"Tapestry Senior Living Lakeshore is our choice because of the activities they provide, it's clean, and the people there seem genuinely happy. The staff member who assisted us was good. They were helpful, nice, and knowledgeable. The structure of the building is well-maintained. The atmosphere inside is relaxed."

"My father is in a retirement home called Sky Active Cherry Laurel. This is an independent living place so I don't have to check him out. If I want to pick him up, he could just leave with me. He is with people who are also retired. He has his own apartment which is a studio suite. I could also take him grocery shopping because he has a refrigerator and a kitchenette. He also has a bathroom and everything is pretty much in a private setting. No one comes in and out anytime or during the night because it's not memory care. He even washes his clothes all by himself since they have a laundry facility there. They have a movie theater, a library, and a salon where he goes and gets his haircut. He goes outside and walks around the building so he's been doing a lot of exercise. He is also meeting people. They sit out in this little thing they call 'the circle' and he is mingling with the residents. When he first got there, he was calling me from 4 am to 6 am, nonstop. Now, I'm only getting one call a day from him and it's a very big improvement. He plays bingo, pool, and checkers, and puts puzzles together. They had a card game going on the other day, too. They have three meals a day that include breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The staff only assists him when he goes down for his meals, and they have been very helpful. He has to order his food by telling them what he wants. They have a menu and he has to choose from there to make an order. He tells me that the food they are serving is good. I thought that maybe I should come up there and eat with him. One time they had lobster and they also had fish. They have all types of proteins, too, like chicken and pretty much whatever he wants to eat. He also could take food back to his room, if he wants. For Thanksgiving, they gave them a box of food to take back to their rooms with them. I think they did the same thing for Christmas. He also gets a lot of fruit whenever I go up there and see him. He always has a fruit basket. The building doesn't look like a circle on the outside but once you get inside, it's like a huge circle. On Christmas, they had this huge Christmas tree there that went from the ground floor to the third floor so it was huge. Right now they're remodeling everything so it's kind of dusty but it's going to look very nice when they're done. The rent he's paying a month already includes a bedroom, cable, and the light bill. It also includes cleaning where someone comes in and cleans the place up for him, and takes the trash out."

"Magnolia Place of Cairo is very caring. The rooms is good. They have bingo, devotion, and exercise daily. They have a library and go out every other week to eat. Meals are provided in a very nice dining area. The food is good."

"My Dad lives at Camilla Gardens. He has multiple medical problems along with some dementia. When I visit I see the Administrator and DON rounding. I have never met one staff member in this facility who do not go out of their way to speak and help. The dietary staff are very nice too and dad looks forward to eating their good food. They have a lot of engaging activities for the elderly. The other patients are great. Dad is often at a table with others in activities. Singing, bingo, and church to mention a few. I even have pictures where he visited Santa and the Easter bunny.He has two roommates. Therapy and the social worker are awesome too."

"My mom moved into Harborview Thomasville 2 weeks ago. The nursing staff is very nice and they help with any questions we have. They're very considerate. They check on her, and they're very helpful. She's in a private room. The dining area is nice and clean. She likes the food that they serve. They have daily activities. They keep a schedule of everything they want to do. They had a Christmas party and New Year's party. She gets physical and occupational therapy."

"I love the Brian Center. The thing I admired about it is, its secure but not TOO secure. Let me explain: Everyone knows that alot of the clients in nursing homes don't always have family members to come visit them, some people put their loved ones in the home and then leave them without calling or visiting. Well The Brian Center let me come in and visit people that didnt have visitors. I would go on a regular when I was living in Thomasville. I loved sitting there talking with some of them and making their day. "

"My father has moved into Pelham Parkway Nursing Home and so far, he's eating good. They're really friendly and things are kept neat and clean. They play bingo and they get three meals a day. The staff is really helpful and nice."

"I toured the Villas at Killearn Lakes. It was wonderful, and that's where I would want to be if I needed to be there. The size of the room is excellent. The villas are individual buildings, and I think each building has eight bedrooms with a private bath. Then, there's a very large area, and in that large area, it's like a big home. The kitchen is right there, and all the food is prepared right in front of the residents. It's just eight people in a building. They look like houses, and it's fantastic. It's the only one I've ever seen like that. The kitchen is spotless. It's excellent. The staff who gave the tour was very thorough. She answered all questions and knew exactly what was going on. They had beautiful gardens, and each building had its hair salon, a good-sized library, books, puzzles, and games."

"Both my grandmother and great grandmother were residents at this nursing home for several years until their deaths. My great grandmother was admitted in the early 1990s and was there until she died in 1998; my grandmother from 2001 until her death in 2005. As this is a small town surrounded by mostly rural farmland there are not many options for senior living facilities, and this was essentially the only option available to our family. Both of my relatives who were residents there were strong willed women suffering from alzheimers/dementia, and as such they gave the caregivers quite a difficult time. There were several incidents with my grandmother in which family members who came by to visit her found suspicious marks on her body and neck; however, there was no way to validate what had happened so nothing came of it. This facility is clean enough; of course, no nursing home is going to smell entirely fresh and sparkling. However, the patients were for the most part left in their rooms unless it was time to go to dinner; they were then almost immediately wheeled back into their rooms. Aside from meals and church services, there was very little interaction between residents. Each time I visited the attendants were mostly clustered around the main desk talking with one another, and on the occasions that we needed assistance it often took around five minutes- in a facility this small it should not have taken longer than 2-3 at the most. From growing up visiting this facility, I have come to the conclusion that I will not be putting any of my elderly relatives in a nursing home unless it becomes an absolute necessity, and that should I have to do so, I will interview and tour as many as I need until I find a place I feel comfortable. This would not have been one of those. "

"We're impressed with Willow Ridge. It's a small-sized facility. They've got medically trained staff and nice rooms. There were trees around there, lots of windows to look outside, and it's a very peaceful location. The director was very friendly, answered all of our questions, available, and was easily reached at any time. A lot of the activities are just now kind of building back up after being shut down for Covid. They didn't have a lot going, but I know there was a group coming in to do Christmas caroling this past week."

"The staff are caring and loving. The facility is well kept with the common areas always decorated with seasonal themes. It is such a wonderful feeling for family to be always welcomed and included with all aspects of care and living. My Daddy is happy to be there and we feel good that he is well loved there too. "

"My friend is a resident of Allegro. I like the staff, food, sanitation, and location. I like the ambiance and the design. The culinary staff is particularly good. The people assisted her, which is minimal. She's lost her eyesight. So, certain things are important to her because she's pretty much blind now. She can get around, but she's blind, and that type of thing that she needs, she gets very good care for. I had lunch there. Everything is good there. It is a quality place. They have buses, and they go everywhere. They do things, and they offer a lot. So, it's up to you, kind of thing. It's very good."
