The only reason this facility is receiving this one star is because I HAD to, in order to write this review! This place needs to be SHUT DOWN! My sweet grandma was in this place for rehab due to her having Covid , pneumonia, several strokes that ended up with her being in a coma. She was sick!! Had a trach & all! Although we looked at the reviews online, as a family we decided that this wasn’t long term, my grandma can get the care she needs and be home soon! Worst mistake ever! This place is the worst! When I visited, we weren’t properly greeted, the staff wasn’t wearing name tags so you couldn’t identify who they were, if we needed help it took forever for someone to come! We do know that our grandma wasn’t the only patient there & didn’t expect to be waited on hand and foot but at least express that you’re glad to be employed & glad to help care for sick people who can’t help themselves! There were 2 ladies that were helpful & didn’t mind helping when needed! My grandma mentioned to the family several times that the girls there were mean, they snatched the call light from her & even rolled their eyes at her! Not to mention she fell there, wasn’t taken to the ER to be examined, didn’t have X-rays or nothing but complained of butt pain! When my mom called to this facility to speak with anyone in charge she held on for over 10 minutes! There’s a BUNCH of unprofessional people at this facility & I wouldn’t recommend this place for no one to take a loved one! We removed our grandma and took her to a place where they are very informative, they show compassion, & they are very concerned! We’re allowed to visit & our loved one has started getting the therapy she needs and she just looks and feels much better! No complaints at all after we removed her from this facility!

The rehab portion of the facility hasoial working competent caring people. Most times the social worker did their best. I do not believe they had much real support. My experience of the long term term portion of the facility is most of the cna are either lazy and or untrained.. No one takes responsibility of any errors. Most of the staff do not care about the residents there. I will always feel guilt checking my father into this place. I feel the same way about his doctor and the doctors assistant who is totally full of him self. USELESS and UNCARING. Remember Heritage someday this will be your family member I

Heritage Healthcare killed my grandmother by leaving her sitting on the side of her bed while the CNA went to get the lift. The CNA knew my grandmother was paralyzed on her right side and could not sit up by herself, they still left her. My grandmother also could not speak. She knew she was falling off the bed and could not alert anyone of what was happening. She suffered an intracranial bleed and died exactly 25 hours after her fall. She never lost consciousness and was alert and responsive until the end. She knew she was dying. My grandmother would be alive today except for the negligence of Heritage Healthcare and Consulate Health.

My mother lived in an ALF for 7 years and until the last year when it changed ownership, it was wonderful. But since March of this year, she had a terrible accident and went to the hospital, rehab and then another ALF. In 6 months, her health declined, she withdrew and I didnt know what to do. Heritage Health Care has been amazing. The facility is clean, the nurses are attentive and the staff care for the residents with kindness, allowing for their dignity. They treatment is of a sincerity that cant be faked. When Mom needs something, they are on it. If you have a parent who needs more assistance and you are not able to care for them in your home, this is the place you want to check out.

This is a wonderful facility. The staff are very friendly and professional. The residents are treated with such kindness and respect. Residents are able to engage in many activities they enjoy such as community events like bingo or getting their hair and nails done. The staff take extremely good care of the residents and have meetings with residents for ongoing feedback. The resident I know really enjoys living there and is doing so much better in their care. It is a clean facility with knowledgeable and kind staff.

My Pop is currently a resident and Heritage Healthcare Center. The rooms are very clean and neat. The staff engages with the residents and develops relationships with the residents. There are many activities that my Pop himself enjoys going too. They have two activities per day one in the morning time and one in the evening. Activities include: bowling, bingo, coloring, puzzles and many others! Over all I rate Heritage Healthcare Center a five, they make sure every resident is comfortable with their stay and gives them the attention and assistance they need.

Heritage Healthcare of Tallahassee is an excellent facility. My Father-in-Law has been a resident there for several months now. Every visit we are met by a professional and helpful staff. The grounds, parking lot and courtyards are very well maintained. The rooms are always clean. But it is the staff that is most impressive. They assist us with any special needs during our visits and answer any questions and concerns. I really am quite confident that his current level of healthcare at Heritage is the best around. We are happy he is there.

My dad has been at Heritage for a couple of months. I have to say when I visit him the facility is clean & I love the staff. The staff are always very friendly and helpful to me when needing assistance with my dad. I show up unannounced and my dad is always dressed & clean. I’m very happy that we’ve found a place close to home & I know he’s being well taken care of. He loves going out to the courtyard & visiting with the staff & other patients. It warms my heart when I visit and my dad is smiling and happy. I would most definitely recommend this facility

Father is a patient since mid March 2018. Communication super from licensed staff. Dispute the allegations of poor performance. New leadership in facility, I went by the quality star rating and this facility was a 4 star. Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms are tight but housekeeping working, see beds in hallway and rooms and hallways being cleaned. My dad is having physical and speech therapy. Great staff. Van loading residents yesterday to take out to restaurant.

My overall impression on Heritage was fair. There was a urine smell, and the patients were sitting in the hall. The layout seemed OK. The surrounding facilities and the way it looked were nice. On Sundays, churches would come in and have Communion.

My father has been at this facility for 2 days now. I live out of state and work so I can't be with him 24 hours a day. When I called to get an update on his physical therapy the people that answer the phone have an attitude and always say they are busy. There was never a return call. So, I decided to drive there, hours away, once I arrived my dad was laying 1/2 way off of the bed with heavily soaked urine sheets up to his chest.

Heritage Healthcare was average to good. On the whole, the staff was pretty good. For the most part, my mother was OK with them. Her complaint mainly was the food. It was well-kept. It was nice.

This is the worst place to put any family or friend in. The staff has a nasty attuide when asked questions. When I call out there you can never get to the patients room. This is a horrible place. I would never recommend anyone to send there love ones there.

I entered this facility strictly for rehabilitation. However, I truly was treated as a nursing home patient. I had terrific pain and was not provided with pain medication for hours. The staff did not seem to care. I was rudely awakened and handled by a CNA who tried to force me to get up and get dressed hours before I needed to do so and when I did not need any assistance with dressing. A resident with mental issues came into my rooms on several occasions, always uninvited. It was a horrible experience. I would recommend that anyone considering this facility look elsewhere.

I liked the nurses who worked hands on with my mother and father when they were at the Heritage Healthcare Center at Tallahassee. It was an older building. I could not say it was dirty or it was clean, but it smelled like a hospital. The food was not the best that I have ever seen, but it was decent. I was not happy when I first went to the place, but after a couple days I felt good. The staff made the difference even though the facility was not the newest or the nicest one. I was pleased with them.

This is the worst facility available. Do not place your love one or client in this facility, of you care about them. My mother was placed in this facility for short term rehabilitation. She was unable to speak but cognitively she was ok. Nursing staff had no respect or showed no common courtesy to the clients. I witnessed nursing staff standing around talking and laughing at a client as he was trying to enter my mother's room. When I asked them to get him they became rude. When calling for help or her pain medication she at on point had to wait for two hours. On two occasions she went without her medication for 24hrs. i doucumented times and names and turned them in to administration but nothing was done. The last draw was on the day of her discharge necessary services and equipment that was to be set up by social services were not processed. My mother was also scheduled for infusion therapy for reoccurring cancer prior to being placed in this facility, but when I asked about when she would start I was told by Dr. Scandemo (the facility physician) that it was not covered by the facility because of cost. The staff at this facility does not care about the people they work with and it shows in their work. I hate that my mother ever experienced this and i will be making more complaints with AHCA and DCF.

Disgusted with this Facility

This is the worst facility I have ever visited. My family member was left in his own filth for 2 hours on 1 occasion and between 30 minutes and 60 minutes on numerous occasions. He was a total care resident. I documented these, with names, dates and times and turned them into the facility but nothing was done about it. They are severely understaffed and do not answer the residents call lights for 15 to 30 minutes. There were numerous complaints by residents of verbal and physical abuse from the staff which the facility covered up. The food is often overcooked and definitely not edible. Clothing and other items belonging to my family member disappeared and the facility was unable to find the inventory sheet that I had filled out and kept updated. I turned the facility into DCF (the Department of Children and Family) and AHCA (Agency for Healthcare Administration). According to a local attorney the facility has numerous law suits against it. DO NOT allow anyone you know or care about to be put in this facility.

Ok I REALLY enjoyed it here and YES I placed my client here. It was a close call because Heritage is already about 98% full which is GREAT! I would definetly say they are doing something right. They had some minor deficiencies but according to the recent reports I've read, they were quickly fixed. I would recommend....well that is, when a bed is available giggles
