"Excellent community. Separate buildings designed for different levels of care. Sectioned rooms for dementia patients. All faculty nice and smiling, patient and encouraging to the residents to remain as independent as possible. Many activities offered along with outside of the facility events, such as a trip to a Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs game. The care providers are rarely off their feet, always moving to complete some task to assist the residents. Staff is knowledgeable in all affairs. Food is fair quality. Staff makes their best attempt to meet all the needs of the residents. For example, most residents receive their own room. However, one couple requested a single room and they were graciously granted the room together. Moreover, the staff also assist the residents for their end of life procedures, such as creating a book that relays the resident's life to his/her friends and family. All in all, a great place to work and live as made possible by the dedicated staff of Country Meadows. "

"We toured the Moravian Village of Bethlehem. It was not right in town, but close enough to town. And Bethlehem is a beautiful town. The room was very nice, and they had storage for things in your apartment. And the person that gave us the tour was very pleasant. The way it was set up, the rooms are on two floors, and they had a lot of nice common areas where people would get together. They had two places, some of them are little individual houses, and some of them were in the main building. The little houses were nice because you had a garage and you also had a basement where you could store your things, which I thought was very nice. The rooms in the main building had nice balconies and the way they were set up you get a lot of light in the apartment. They had a lot of physical activities and they had people that specialize in doing things with people with arthritis and so on. They also have a lot of physical activities that help keep people healthy. When we went there, some people were meeting in the library and were having a discussion or something in a book club or something. I think it was in their library. I think they also had a pool class going on in there. The dining area looked very pleasant and some people were setting it up. I didn't taste the food, but it looked like they were enjoying it and they had a lot of available choices. It is expensive, though. The staff went to a lot of trouble to answer our questions. We got to see what the rooms looked like. And I think they were very efficient with their tours and were very thorough. It seemed that they had a lot of good things on the menu."

"My sister is at the Lutheran Home at Topton. It's the most spectacular care facility I have ever seen in my entire life. It's immaculate. The staff is abundant and caring. It's expensive but worth every penny. Everything about it is amazing and didn't have the slightest odor. I was just there two weeks ago. They have a five-star approval from the State of Pennsylvania. The size of the rooms is fine. They have numerous dining rooms and cafes for guests to eat. I ate in one, and the food was very good. It's fairly standard for every taste, like there was nothing really spicy or really bland; it's just right. They have activities like bingo and concerts, but nothing that she can participate in. "

"We're very familiar with Moravian Hall Square. We've had other family members there. The facility is beautiful. It's very well kept. It's kept very clean. All of the nursing staff are very kind and nice. You always see maintenance people working on interior things, exterior maintenance to long care. They have lots of social functions for the residents there. They have housing that you can buy into where you don't need any type of assisted care. So you just buy the home and you live in that home. And then if you need care, you can transition into the other care. The staff was very kind, helpful. You have housekeeping. You have nursing. You have the office staff, the front desk people. Everybody is very nice and accommodating. I don't eat the food, but there have never been any complaints about the food, that's always been very well prepared. In assisted living, they have little music concerts, people that come in and play music. They have a van where they take you out. And if you're in the housing where you buy a house, they have tennis courts, swimming pools, bocce ball, and walking trails."

"Fredrick Living is a really, really nice assisted living facility. I knew about them through a colleague at work whose mother was in their hospice program. They have everything there except for aqua therapy. My colleague said that the people were great and it's just a joy seeing his mother being taken good care of. They had a free day so I took my father over there for a free day just to get him to see if he likes the place and the people. He loved it but he's just stubborn, he just did not want to go into any assisted living facility. I was really impressed. The staff were excellent, they were just a good, good bunch of people. They have all kinds of things for you, they took them places, they have little programs, there like a putting green for golf and they have people coming in and planning things. I'll definitely recommend Fredrick Living to others. "

"I liked Rockhill. It was neat, clean, friendly, out of the way, and expensive. They had a calendar of events and a bus for transportation."

"I toured the Lutheran Community at Telford. They have a lot of nice facilities and a nice swimming pool. They're owned by another community I visited. They're about a mile and a half apart, and they bus their residents to the Lutheran Community to do some of the activities. The staff answered all my questions and gave me a lot of information. The upkeep was very well. The rooms that they showed me did not have a balcony."

"I visited Souderton Mennonite Homes. It was old, over a hundred years, but it was very nice. The community had a cafe, and a place for people to gather, and it seemed very friendly. I was impressed with that. They have cottages and villas, but they have a 4-5 year waiting list. They take people out, they have indoor exercise in the pool, chess, Bridge, and clothing group. They have apartments that are independent living."

"I toured Maplewood Estates. It's a very beautiful community. I did not eat there. It appears they're going to be building some more. They don't have a swimming pool but they do have some exercise rooms and stuff in their facility. They have two facilities. They have the old facility. They have the new sets of apartments, and then they have the cottages. They have a lot to offer. The staff dealt very well."

"My mom was at Pine Run Community for rehabilitation. The food was fantastic. She fell and fractured her pelvis. The level of care was nice as far as the rehabilitation and the therapists. They did several things to get the residents involved. They had bingo several times. They had people come in. They had people that would sing for them. They had a comedian come in."

"Brittany Pointe Estates is close to my neighborhood so I visited the place. It's a very nice facility with good food. The people are very pleasant and professional. They met the needs of their clients. What I like the best is that they have continuing care. As you get older and need more care, you don't need to leave the place and go somewhere else. "

"I went to Elm Terrace Gardens which is in Lansdale. It was like a high-rise apartment building in the middle of the town, and it certainly had some positives to it, but I did not like the apartments as much. The train station was a walking distance. The dining area was very nice. I had a meal there, and the food was fine. The dining area looked like a restaurant. "

"My husband is at Gluco Lodge Personal Care Home for respite care. It is a great place. The food is decent, and the dining room is very nice. They have activities, like bingo and sing-alongs. All the staff is very nice, caring, and very helpful. The room he is in is very nice. They are very reasonably priced, too. If you needed a little more help than others, then you could be charged a little bit more, which is understandable. It is a very good place. Whoever would go there would be very happy with it."

"Meadowood Senior Living was very expensive, so that's what turned us off on this. We couldn't afford it. However, they have a wood shop where you could go down to. They have places where the men could go. They have a golf tournament and all kinds of games. There's a swimming pool, so that was nice. The staff were excellent. The community was nice, but it was just too expensive for us. We had a good dinner there. The food was good. I wouldn't mind eating there, it tasted very good. The place was very clean. They have people who pick up and clean the areas. Outside is nice, too. They were renovating two rows of the apartments that people moved out of, so that was good. There are a lot of chairs and places to sit down outside. The dining area is big enough for the people who live there. Most of the rooms were renovated. They had brand new appliances like refrigerators and dishwashers put in. Everything was tiled inside the kitchen. They take care of the place."
