"Alaya Care LLC was very nice. It looked a little bit used, but it was still very nice, and I liked the woman in charge very much, Reinka. She was wonderful. The memory care unit was good. It seemed rather large and had room for two people in it. They had a whole room devoted to activities for people and a dining area that looked real nice too."

"The Village of East Harbor is very clean and very homey. You would feel very comfortable there. The staff is very nice to my husband. The building is very good. The cleanliness of the facility is pretty good, too. We went into one of their activities and it was very nice. They have a lot of things going on, but my husband can't be involved with some of them. They had a Broadway thing where a man put on a different jacket when he did another decade of a song, and it was good. They will also have a candlelight dinner here next Sunday. I'm a little upset because they already increased the cost for January. But the size of the room my husband got is very good. You bring your own furniture here. We have a long dresser, a TV, a little round table, my husband's La-Z-Boy chair, his bed, and a little refrigerator. It's pretty roomy."

"The visit was good. It’s a very new facility. It will be a year old sometime in the spring, and I was very happy with the calls back and the direction provided, and my mom has moved in. My mom is getting the kind of care that I expected. They are very receptive, and it’s a very clean facility. The ratio of nurse or caregiver to resident is not by number; it’s by need -- which is a big difference. When you based the amount of caregivers based on their needs, you get the right care. My mom told me yesterday that she has gained 8 pounds, and she loves the food. There’s a private bath and a spiritual person that comes in once a week per service. If you’re assisted versus memory care, you can walk out into an enclosed outdoor porch area so you don’t need somebody to walk you out there or want to sit with you; you can just open the door and be on a confined but secure area where you can get fresh air, and they have a bus that takes the residents to the grocery store or bingo, and lastly they have a beauty shop on site where she can get her nails and hair done. "

"I toured Beaumont Commons, Dearborn. I thought it was an easy five stars. I know a resident that lives there. I toured it with him, and it was a community. I could see the association and the fellowship with the other residents. I thought it was nice. It's something that I was hoping that my sister could get into, but I don't know how that one is structured for finances. The staff members were definitely visible. They seemed to be very attentive to their responsibilities, and they seemed to be very available to the residents. I saw my friend's apartment, and some of the rooms. I was pleased with what I saw. They had their own movie theater. They had a little grocery store, gift shop, dining room, and a winery. They had quite a few things. I thought the food was very well prepared. The dining area was five-star hotel level. It was very well maintained."

"I moved to Victoria Square. I like that it's senior living, so you're dealing with just seniors. They have a great community where they do things in their lobby or a little get-together at certain times. I like that it's secured where you need a key or be buzzed in, and no one can walk into your building. I also like that, in senior living, they cap you at a certain amount depending on your status, as far as you can pay, so they can't increase your rent like if you were in a regular apartment. The staff is pleasant. They have bingo and programs. They keep the facility clean and have maintenance people come through. I like that they have garbage storage on each floor and make sure to clean them daily so you don't smell anything throughout the building. As for the value, it's average. It's not a bad price for what you're getting."

"I'm in Waltonwood University. It's fine. There's nothing wrong with it at all. It's beautiful. I got a good deal. I got a thousand dollars off my rent, so I got exactly what I wanted. The staff is perfect. I have no problems. It's very clean. The rooms are very spacious to me, at least on the independent side. There is lots of closet space. The dining area is good. It's not like you're going to a very expensive restaurant, but it's OK. You get a Continental breakfast in the morning and then you get a full meal at night. The food is average. They have lots of activities, except we don't have a bus driver to go to different places outside right now. The bus driver has retired. They have an exercise room and they do different types of exercises, like balance exercises. They do light chair exercises, stretching exercises, and those kinds of things. If you get a special, it's worth it, because it would almost cost you as much to live in an apartment around here when you get down to buying food and everything else. At least they give you two choices, but they could have a little bit more food."

"my husband is currently in here for rehab after a fracture. He has received excellent care from the dedicated staff. He is going home next week because of the excellent care in mind, body and spirit he has received. "

"The care givers are caring and very helpful. Always nice to the patients and always wiling to answer my questions. Very patients. I have seen them give the patients hugs every time i have been there. "

"The Fox Run assisted living facility looked really well-kept from the outside as we drove up. I was helping a friend find a suitable place to live for his mother. The main foyer had a lovely receiving area, and at first glance, it was hard to imagine that this was an assisted living facility. It seemed more like a five star hotel. The living suites were offered in a variety of really nice options. They were also beautifully decorated. We could see that my friend's mother would be comfortable in any one of them. Each unit had individually controlled temperatures. The kitchens all had ample counter space and nice appliances. There is a lot of convenience here as well, from the salon, fully-equipped exercise spa and whirlpool, to the library and coffee bar, TV studio, music room, well-stocked library and computer room. We especially liked the uniqueness of the billiards room, creative arts studio and woodworking room. The dining areas have many options. From more intimate to communal dining, resident can choose whatever they like "“ in addition to hosting guests in their own spaces. The menu choices looked nutritious and delicious, as well as the regular snacks "“ offered continually. The food looked and smelled like what you would find in upscale restaurants. The activity calendar features many healthy and stimulating activities. We liked that the staff encourages participation and tries to make everything interesting for its residents. They have outings to local libraries, events, culture, restaurants, shopping and athletic activities. They take suggestions to update the schedule as much as possible. We've visited quite a few assisted living facilities and thus far, the staff at this one were some of the most friendly we've met yet. This facility was really more like a fully-equipped village, with a market and a bank - and amenities like a five star hotel and any senior could easily be very happy here. "

"Oakmont Northville is able to accommodate my brother's gluten-free dietary requirement, and he enjoys it there. They have people come in with their dogs to see the residents. They have entertainment; they play Wii games, Bridge, and Euchre. I like it a lot. My brother said the food is very good. I don't think their price is out of range. They have a building attached that takes care of Alzheimer's patients -- which is sort of a nice transition if needed. "
