"Riverside is all very nice, but it’s expensive. The staff is very nice and professional. They’ve got various activities, bingo, arts, computers, church, and shopping trips. I have a one bedroom apartment; they’re all one or two bedroom apartments. It’s a standard one bedroom apartment; you own a private bath and full kitchen. The food is good. "

"I almost placed my dad at Riverside Senior Life at Bourbonnais. It's a beautiful community with great people. The tour was fantastic. I love the layout of the building, I love the rooms, they have vaulted ceilings and the first floor looks out outside on a nice view. The problem is that the memory care portion of the building seems too institutionalized, it seemed like you're in a hospital. And that was the deal breaker for me. The staff was awesome and the girl we talked to was fantastic, she was absolutely topnotch and very professional. I saw 2-room units but they also have other options. This place is maybe 6 years old and new is important because the newer they are, the nicer they are. Everyone is nice on the assisted living side but when you need memory care, you have to move over as opposed to where he is now where he can still stay in his unit."

"My family member has lived at Manteno springs assisted liveing fo three years .Manteno Springs is a small facility with big hearts it is a warm, and careing ,family oriented group, of providers that have always gone above and beyond the call of duty for my family .I am thankful. "

"My mother-in-law has moved to Harvest View Living, the place is wonderful. The people are great and the food is good. They have lots of activities like bingo, chair exercises and they have all kinds of stuff."

"Mom is in Prairieview Lutheran Home. It's pretty well kept up. I haven't had any issues with the services. They're very helpful, nice, friendly, and understanding. They have stuff three or four times a day, every day. They have church, they have somebody come paint their nails and do their hair, they have bingo, a little popcorn party, and arts and crafts. The dining area is nice. I have never tried the food, but it looks decent. My mom hasn't complained about it."

"My dad is a resident of Cedarhurst of Frankfort. The food is awful, otherwise, everybody's kind and does their job, but they dread going down to eat. It's beautiful, it's kept clean, and it's nice, but it's very expensive. He goes to some activities."

"My grandma was at Cedar Creek Health Campus until she passed. I believe it was a pretty brand new facility and very clean. They had great staff too."

"I toured Joshua Arms Senior Residences. We met a few staff members. It was actually assisted living, and it was based on an assessment of my mom and what degree of care she would need, so it was all-encompassed in the cost. It felt a little more comfortable in that respect as her needs change. It wouldn't necessarily put us in a bind and increase our prices because they had to attend to her more often as things change. It wasn't as updated, and the location was probably not as accessible as the other place. But at the same time, we liked the area, and my mom felt comfortable right away, so she liked the aspect of it. Their setup was a little different. At this location, pretty much across the board, all apartments were small one-bedrooms. It was nice because it gave you that separation of the living area and the sleeping quarters. The bathroom was nice and large and accessible. The staff were all great, too. I noticed they had a separate activity room for the assisted living individuals and then they had a larger one that encompassed everybody within the entire building. It was nice that if you wanted a little quieter space, then you go to the smaller activity room. And if you want a larger crowd and more interaction, you can go to the larger one. It was nice to have a little bit of a difference there. The grounds were a little bit different in terms of probably getting out, walking, and being outside. "

"I cant begin to express my sincere appreciation for the assistance my family and I received from all the staff members at Heritage Woods in Dwight from navigating and completing all the paperwork to making different appointments . I wish I could name everyone but I would run out of room because it was literally everyone we met. Jason, Cassie, Kim, Erin, Stephanie, Brenda, Kayla to name a few- everyone was helpful and dedicated in providing true guidance to helping my mom move in. Their assistance went well above and beyond a job description. They made her feel welcome and safe and part of their community. It actually feels like a small community here with the many activities and special celebrations and smiling residents. My mom receives expert administrative and nursing care and is treated as an individual. My family and I have actually noticed a positive change in my mom since she moved in. She's already made a few friends and has become one of the smiling residents! The empathy, understanding and professionalism shown here made all the difference in my moms transition to Heritage Woods of Dwight. Thank you all for your outstanding care and support. "This is the area's best kept secret! My mother had excellent care. The staff to resident ratio is by far the best that I came across. The food is all homemade, and appealed even to my picky Mother. These were the best years that my mom had. I am so very thankful that I discovered this residence. "

"Heritage Woods of Minooka helps seniors who don't have the savings or retirement fund, get a place for them. They offer alternatives besides private pay. They have been such a great help with gathering all the information that was needed to provide my mother the best care that she could possibly get. They give the seniors the quality of life and independence, as well as assistance that they need. It's beautiful, very clean, and not institutional smelling. It's bright and sunny. It's a peaceful, serene environment with great food. Everybody has been so welcoming, so informative, and so helpful. They have really gone above and beyond to make my mother's stay there very comfortable and assuring us that she will be taken care of as needed."
