Assisted Living Communities in Tequesta, FL

"HarborChase of Palm Beach Gardens is a beautiful place. However, I had some difficulty finding a place to park. But it's a beautiful place. They're very friendly. Another thing and this is a plus for them, of all the places I looked at, the programs they had for the seniors I thought were excellent, and not that the others were bad, but these were better. Among the plans or the programs they had for them, they would have discussion lectures and they had one scheduled for the history of aviation. Although these wouldn't suit everybody, a lot of them would intellectually love to be able to get involved or be able to express their opinions or learn about things like this. I was impressed with that. The person who accommodated me during the tour was very good. They were very nice. I can't say anything bad. They had excellent people. "

"My mother chose Prosperity Oaks and is currently working on it right now. Mom likes the layout and the fact that it kind of felt like a hotel and the apartments are fairly roomy. This seemed homey and more open. When we visited, the staff was very accommodating and very friendly. Their dining area seemed nice, and they have variety. "

"We went to Discovery Village at Palm Beach Gardens. The location of the property felt isolated, which would be secure, but I found it a little unwelcoming. It was far from the town, but it appeared safe. The staff seemed attentive and cordial. The residents were engaging in morning exercise and arts and crafts. The resident ambassador took the time to review the day's activities with us and our family member. The resident ambassador helps orient new residents, which I thought was a good touch."

"My tour of Palms Edge Assisted Living and Memory Care was very good. The staff was very professional and caring. They were very good and very detailed. The rooms that I saw were OK. They were not as fancy as some of the other assisted living places we had gone to. They were a little bit smaller, but they were very clean. The interaction that we had with the residents and the staff was very, very good. We were there during lunchtime. They were just starting to feed the residents. They had sandwiches, chips, and other things that looked good. It looked appealing, but we didn't eat there. The atmosphere was calm and safe. They had activities scheduled. We just didn't see any at the time because of the timeframe that we were there. They could probably improve a little bit more on the facility itself. It's an older facility. They have kept up with it as much as they can. Sometimes you can't do much more with an older facility, but it looks like they have been trying."

"My mother loved Moore Care more than life itself. She ran the place, I'd put it that way. They did everything she thought she want it done. I wanted her to go there because the location is in a very decent home atmosphere area. The house is just beautiful and so clean. My mother was a clean freak and everything has to be spotless. That's why she loved it because Keisha kept that place so clean. I've had dinner there with my mother. The food was excellent. In the area where they ate, most ladies go in and have talks. She liked bingo so they have that and sometimes I sit with them. My mother was really religious so I brought her a tape and she played her gospel tapes because it's hard for her to read. I also taped when I read the Bible. I told Keisha when I get old enough I want to be right there with her. That's the place that I pick for myself already. It's a really good place. I don't think my mother would have ever left if she had been there. "

"The community of Symphony at Stuart would fit my mother best with regard to the ease of routine that she has, the newness of the facility, the added hurricane structure (like backup generators), her closeness to myself, and the activities they have. The director, Chris, was very helpful. We had a candid meeting, and my mom went through a lot of questions she had about the facility. We did a tour. We had lunch there and lunch was very nice. I even asked for something that wasn't on the regular menu, and they accommodated me. They were just very helpful. During lunch, we spoke not only to the director, but we also spoke to different staff and different residents. My mother liked that they have a Sunday service. She actually went on a number of tours of facilities in Stuart, but this is the one that she liked the best. It was just a very nice experience."

"Sterling House was kind of a mixed community. Aside from people with assisted living needs, they also have some dementia people too. It was more diverse community. If I have the money, that would be the place for my mother! It was beautiful but it was too expensive. It was also very secure. The facility was like a big square, so if you go in the hallway, any way you go, you're going to end up in the same place. Nobody would get lost there. They have a beautiful courtyard outside that was surrounded by the building, and again, nobody is going to escape when they go there. They did have beautiful gardens and beautiful porch. I like those too. They also have nice dining room. Their rooms were spacious enough. I think they have the biggest rooms of all the places I've been. They did not have the option of shared rooms but they did have larger and smaller rooms. I like the sizes of their rooms actually. They also have all kinds of activities for their residents. They have baby dolls and cribs for the women to play with. They have arts, card games, bingo, etc. The staff was very friendly. They would acknowledge you right away. They were very sympathetic. They were very polite and very helpful. "

"I toured Argo Senior Living at Haverhill Road. I did not see what their meals looked like or anything like that, but other than that everything was clean and it was fine. The staff was very nice and very helpful."

"It is very, very nice for independent living. My parents were in their assisted living. The dining room in their assisted living is very small, and they really didn’t have enough room for the people. Mom is more independent than my dad, and she liked to eat in the independent living's dining room. It was nicer and they have more choices, they have more courses, and the people were more conversational. They were happy with the facility. They had a two-bedroom apartment with a balcony. They could see a fountain from the balcony."

"Staff is highly attentive, caring and enjoy their job! Good is amazing and not limiting - it makes my family member WANT to eat! Rooms are beautiful and nothing is crowded in!"

"My sister is living here. They're fine for assisted living. It's great. The staff are helpful and willing to do anything for my sister. She has a one-bedroom and it's plenty big enough for her. She has all the privacy and all the rooms she needs. They have plenty of activities, but my sister is not a joiner. She just prefers to read books, and they do have a library there. We have tried their food and their food is wonderful."

"I went to Bella Mar at Royal Palm Beach. I did not dislike anything. I didn't think it was an overwhelming experience, but I thought it was a good experience. The room seems to be accessible. The director who assisted me during the tour was very good. He was friendly enough, and he interacted with his staff. The facility seemed very clean. They have a gym and an outdoor space and offer therapy."

"My mom is settled in a very nice place. We're so happy. This place is much better for her mental capacity, because when she was in the house with 5 other people, they all had Alzheimer's, and she doesn't have that. There was no one to talk to. This place is big, and it has a library and a computer. It has a pool, too. And now, she can meet people. The staff was OK. They were friendly. She says the food is wonderful. She has a room with a roommate. The people in the room next door are nice. It wasn't dumpy; it was very nice. It was very clean, very lovely. She's upstairs, and when you look out over the balcony, it's really pretty. They have a bus that takes them a certain number of times a week to Wal-Mart. They have bingo time, but she's not a bingo person. They have groups and entertainers that come in on Sundays or other times. It motivates her to go and be with people. She can leave the room, whereas at the other place, she could leave if she wanted to, but it was harder. "
