"I moved into Wills Creek Village's assisted living. It's in my hometown, about eight miles from the house where I lived for a few years. It's a really nice place with good people. It's clean, neat, and hospitable. There's not a lot of amenities though. Just little things like bingo, but there's not really a whole lot of amenities. There's no pool and we don't travel. The room I'm in is very, very nice. The staff are outstanding, it could be a little better, but it's still really good. I think it's expensive for just assisted living, there's no pool, and we don't travel. They don't take us to casinos, and they don't plan trips for us. We just stay in our rooms and enjoy each other's company."

"Serenity Place Assisted Living and Memory Care was very clean and everybody was very nice there. My in-laws would have had a lot more room there because they could have gotten two adjoining rooms. However, once they moved out of the house, Dad was afraid Mom was going to get worse because she's got mild dementia. He's also afraid that they were going to want to move her to memory care, and if they move her to memory care, that means she'd be in one building, and he'd be in another building, he is afraid that she would just go straight downhill. They showed me the beauty shop and the dining area. They had an activities area and stuff like that too. It was nice; they just remodeled it. Everything was brand new in there. It looked like a nice place. That would have been my choice for my in-laws where they would have had more room, but Dad is afraid that they're going to try to put Mom in memory care, and then they would be in separate places by themselves. The staff members were nice though. "

"My aunt is staying in the Cherokee County Health and Rehab Center. Their staffing ratios are very safe, and they have a lot of activities, and they're very good with her. She seems very happy. She's in a single bedroom. Station five is where she's at, which is all just single-occupant rooms, and everyone there seems very well taken care of. The staff is very nice. They get along very well with my aunt. She's probably one of their favorite patients because they are used to dealing with people who aren't able to have the recollection, memory, and recall to have a good conversation. They have multiple activities throughout the day. They throw big events like a month or so ago, they had Elvis Presley visit, and everyone dressed up like they're nice, and today they have a pianist come in to perform for them, and I thought that was nice."

"I have found an assisted living facility. I'm very pleased with it. It is absolutely wonderful. I have a suite where I have my own private living room. I have brought my own furnishings in with me. I have my own private bedroom and private bathroom. It has a walk-in shower. I have all the amenities in the world. The staff is very professional. They take time to visit with each resident each day as well as take care of all their health care and physical needs. They aren't just here to dispense medicines; they're here to dispense healing. The food is wonderful. We have the best cook in the state of Alabama. For activities, we have board games, card games, and bingo. We have a large library and a large television with a library of different videos. We have snacks and coffee available 24 hours a day. We also have experienced healthcare worker 24 hours a day. I would definitely recommend this community. "

"Oakview Nursing & Rehab Center was a nice nursing home facility and it was clean. I went there three times and I never smelled urine, and I never saw anything that was unpleasant. Their dining facility looked nice, and they posted the meals in a good way. They had activities. It used to be a hospital, so the rooms were typical double semi-private hospital rooms. It's not huge, and the privacy they had was still a curtain between the two, but they could move their beds around to give them more room. They could put a recliner in there or a chair. Everyone I saw seemed very knowledgeable, understanding, and pleasant. They would give them snacks, and they were very in-tune to them. Even though this is a nursing home, they look at it as the patient's home."
