My husband moved into Ashton Place. I've been very happy. The facility is very well laid out and easy for them to get around and not get lost. The people are incredibly trained to work with those who are diminished in their thinking and in their ability to care for themselves. They are kind. They like to interact with humor and interest. There's enough staff. I've been very impressed. The facility is not huge and overwhelming. Their nurses are very astute. They are assigned specific patients, so they see the same people day after day. They are attentive. They get to know them and what they like. In fact, one of the nurses stopped my daughter in the hall and asked about her dad. That, to me, is extremely personal. They are really focused on the individual. They can get out of the hall in their wheelchairs. It's five sections with a center core, and they can go down to that center core. They can go out into a courtyard. It's all right there in one place. They are seen when they go out. They are watched. My husband likes the food. They have all kinds of activities. They play cards. The insurance policy that I have is that I do not pay over a certain level.

My mom moved into Ashton Place. It is a very nice nursing home. They actually keep them staffed. So far, everything is good. There are one or two beds and one bath, and they are pretty good-sized rooms. Actually, we did Christmas over there, so they had a room for us for that. It was all nice, and I've been impressed with it. I've run into a lot of CNAs that are actually in nursing school, so that's a good thing. Mom says she gets way more food than she deserves. I'm always teasing Mom about playing bingo on Wednesdays and attending church on Thursdays.

My mother-in-law has been placed in Ashton Place. She was in rehab a year ago, and they treated her very well, so when they went and looked at that, they liked it so well that they decided not to look anywhere else. The place is very nice, up-to-date, contemporary, and very clean. They have dayrooms and that kind of thing. They are shorthanded. It depends on what shift it is. Some shifts seem to be a little bit better than others. We had a little bit of an issue getting people to come promptly and help her to the restroom when she needed to go, but we've kind of corrected that by appealing to the administrative staff. We have family members there every day, so they're learning that we are a family that is very involved in our loved one's care. Because we are there, we let them know we're not pleased with something, and they tend to respond to it. The weekend staff might not be as attentive as the weekly staff. It depends on who is on duty that day. Some staff are very attentive and very punctual in responding, and then there are others that you can't hardly get them to come in and do anything. The meals are average, but my mother-in-law seems satisfied with them. It's quite expensive and that's just my estimate. I think they charge an awful lot for what they offer.

My dad is at Ashton Place. It's amazing. It's one of the best places around the Fort Smith area. They've got awesome and caring people that work there. I can't say enough about the place. I live three and a half hours away and for me to have to leave my parents somewhere. I know they're going to be taken care of. It's hard to leave your parents somewhere, but when you do, you know, your parents are going to be taken very well care of. The food seemed to be pretty good. It's very clean. On the long-term care side, we have all wooden plank floors. You got a semi-private space where there are two people in a room, but my dad has got his room by himself right now. Some people do share rooms.

My dad was at Ashton Place. He liked all his nurses, doctors, and physical therapy. All the people were nice to him, so that's one thing he loved. The food was pretty good for him, too. My dad didn't eat any kind of chicken, so they always made accommodations for the food he liked. It seems like the facility is always well-kept and clean. They check you at the front door and make sure you don't have COVID or anything. They always double-check, but they're friendly about it. They have a garden and a big gazebo in the middle of the facility. They have a salon, a physical therapy wing, a long-term residence wing, and a quarantine wing.

My father is in Ashton Place and we are very pleased with it. He's great now, he's a lot better than he was, and they've taken good care of him as well. What I like about Ashton Place probably the most is that they do not hesitate to call me whenever there's an issue and just let me know what is going on with my dad and then kind of ask and to make sure that it's OK with me or that if I think it will be OK if they do this or the other. They're very good about calling in and letting me know what's going on day to day, especially with this COVID shutdown. I can't go in and see him face to face and be able to get the information. I went there yesterday to take some personal things to him and they were just like Johnny on the spot. I mean, taking care of everything and writing things down, and keeping track of what was going on with him and I appreciate that. We have no issues at all.

Ashton Place Manor is a nursing home that has a wonderful and very clean facility located in an easy to get to location. The nurses and certified nursing assistants (CNAs) who work there are always very helpful when I go by to visit my grandmother, who is a current resident at their facility. They always have games that they are playing with the residents and everyone seems to be having a great time whenever I stop by. I visited several different nursing homes in the area during my search for one for my grandmother, and Ashton Place seemed to stand out among the crowd. Besides being very clean (which is not always the case), the food there is actually pretty good and the residents are treated how I would want myself to be treated. I would definitely feel good about having someone I loved living at Ashton Place Manor or even living there some day myself.
