We moved Dad into Mountain View Gardens Gracious Retirement Living. There's a lot of things I like, but their shuttle service is very limited in my opinion. They don't have any shuttle service on weekends, and not even for church on Sunday. Their shuttle service during the week is 9:00 to 3:00, Monday to Thursday. On Friday it's 9:00 to noon, so it's very limited even for doctors' appointments. I think they need to improve their shuttle service. He liked that they had balconies and patios and a little bit of personal space outside. That was the number one thing he liked. The food is exceptional. They have really good food. My dad's kind of a picky eater, and he's not complained about one meal yet. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. They helped us with moving. They have movers that work there all the time and know the facility and whatnot. You could get in really quickly with them. They have a wonderful outdoor pool and hot tub with a lift to get in if you can't climb stairs. Their gym looked pretty small. The other thing is the security. They switched completely to those pendants you wear, and that's kind of a nice idea if you're walking around the facility and you happen to stumble and fall, but the problem is, if you have a pacemaker like my dad, you can't use those devices. They have no backup. They took all that pull cord and push button stuff out of the room. Right now, he has nothing, and I didn't really like that. They're working on trying to get some alternatives that you can use with a pacemaker. Compared to Tucson, for the same size of unit and whatnot, it's probably about $500 a month cheaper.

I toured Mountain View Gardens Gracious Retirement Living. I love Mountain View Gardens. The food is not going to be a Michelin Guide, but it was certainly good food.

My friend has a place at Mountain View Gardens. The thing he likes best is the grounds. It has a beautiful pool. It has a shaded patio that you can get in the shade and sit outside. He loves to be outdoors, so that's his favorite thing. And then the services that he gets are very nice. The food is sometimes okay. Half the time the food is not that great because I've eaten there many times. My friend doesn't like a lot of starch, gluten, wheat, and stuff like that, so he's kind of in a restricted way, but he can eat fruits and vegetables and meat. It's institutional food, and so that's the thing he likes the least. They don't have nurses there. You have to hire your own nurse. But I looked at other places and I thought this was the best. The staff are wonderful. All of them are wonderful. Even the cooks, the maids, and the servers are wonderful. They're always cheerful. They're very good. They have a lot of activities, but my friend likes to go on the computer and listen to music, read, and write in his room. He's not social, but other people do. Every day they have activities. My friend has a studio room, and it's very clean. They keep it neat. They have maid service. And if he can't come to the table to eat, they bring his food to the room. It's a very good service.

Everyone at Mountain View Gardens is very nice and friendly. They always have activities going on. They take pets as well. They have three meals a day. They have a microwave and a small refrigerator. They have one bedroom, which I like because it is a little bit more spacious where I have two dogs. The staff was very knowledgeable and polite. They have an outdoor pool.

My uncle was a resident of this facility and was very content there. Upon his death a few weeks ago that is. No they did nothing to contribute to it. That isn't where this is going. I want to pre warn other people of the cost incurred when a loved one passes. Not only were we not reimbursed for the 2 weeks left in the month but we were billed for an additional month due to the fact that we didn't give a 30 day notice. He died. I would love to know 30 days prior to my death so I could make sure everything was in place but we don't have that luxury and families shouldn't be treated this way.

Mountain View Gardens has been wonderful for my mother. The staff members who work there really care about the residents and I'm very pleased with the care that they give to my mom. She's doing fine so far in their independent living. The food is good. Whenever I visit I stay with her and they accommodate me then charge a little extra. So I get to join her meals. I like the fact that she walks down to the dining area, eats with everybody, and talks to people. It makes it so she's motivated to walk that distance. The only thing is that they really need a second elevator because they only have one. She likes the activities: puzzles, Wii bowling, and card games. She's pretty social and active.

My father stayed here for a short time. It is a well managed facility. Management personnel work to keep a good staff. He had a small but adequate apartment with a nice view of the court yard and pool area. He had a large balcony. The rooms were clean and bright with large windows and excellent excellent lighting. The bathroom was well designed for handicapped access. The staff was conscientious and caring. They knew their residents and their special interests and needs. Managers and employees always had a kind word for my father and took the time to communicate. Housekeeping was excellent. I was impressed that the dining area was vacuumed after every meal. The dining room was well set up. The food was of excellent quality with a good variety. Most days the bread was baked fresh. There were many activities including bingo and movies. They had a popcorn machine and provided fresh popcorn on a regular basis. They also had a self serve ice cream machine which alternated between chocolate and vanilla. Sierra Vista is a nice, quiet community. However, the medical care leaves a little to be desired.

I saw Mountain View. It was very nice. It had apartments, but they did not have any kitchens in them. The staff was wonderful. The dining area was nice. The food was good.

My mother lives at a place called Mountain View Gardens. We moved her in the week before Thanksgiving. You can bring your own nursing assistant in. They don't have 24-hour nurses on-staff or anything like that. The food proportions are great for seniors. They don't overfeed them. They always get three choices on the meals. They get housekeeping once a week. They will provide the sheets and towels for you and wash them. They immediately called me the other day when my mother yelled, something she has never done before. They actually watch the people if they do something out of character. If somebody doesn't show up for a meal, they'll have somebody check on them. They are a very caring community. They have their own bus if you have a doctor's appointment. They play bingo, cards, movies in the evening, the ladies sew, they set up the sewing machine for them, and they quilt. To me, it's an ideal place; in fact one of the teachers I used to work with retired and moved in there.
