The Haven House Assisted Living Home was recommended by a friend in the region as an option for our parents.They are very familiar with the region, having had a vacation home there for many years. The interior design was nicely ordered and easy to navigate. Each room had nice views with a calming décor featuring lots of fresh air and light. The living community had a home-style atmosphere. We could see that the residents there were very comfortable. The backyard featured many places for seniors to enjoy around the grounds safely. There was also had plenty of park-like space with many large trees and nicely manicured lawns. The main dining room had a comfortable furnishings in a spacious room. The residents are offered many healthy, home-style cooked meal options in casual and formal restaurant settings. The menus included many interesting dishes, as well as the usual American fare. All of the food looked and smelled delicious, as well as healthily prepared. Snacks are offered regularly throughout the day and whenever residents desired. The exercise center included daily yoga and aerobics exercise classes. The equipment is available throughout the day and they also offer DVD instruction which they supervise for the seniors' safety. Residents can also safely navigate the lovely garden pathways and courtyards to get plenty of exercise daily. The calendar of events included many stimulating activities like nature walks, excursions into town, festivals, fairs and many other cultural opportunities in and around the area. Bathrooms were designed with safety seats and rails. The private rooms were decorated tastefully with a homey, light and airy atmosphere. Each unit has nice views of the surrounding area. The residents all looked very well taken care of by really nice staff. It was clear that the seniors were enjoying this stimulating, and also peaceful living environment.
