I would not recommend this facility for anyone looking for elderly care. It is adjoined to the Johnson City Medical Center - operated and owned by Mountain States Health Alliance. The inside of the facility is clean, and it is a last option for end-of-life scenarios for the elderly without insurance or a family member to care for them. The main problem with JCMC is the lack of care from staff members. Patients are a "number" rather than a person; and treated so accordingly. One of my elderly patients from the Seminole House (MR Caregiver position) had an IV left in her arm after a stay at JCMC, and I was not authorized to remove it - and she kept bending her arm back and forth which caused her pain and bleeding. I would not recommend this facility (or the adjoined JCMC hospital) to anyone.
