The major focus of Occupational Therapy is re-training individuals with injuries or debilitating conditions in basic living skills, such as dressing, bathing, and homemaking. Individuals learn energy conservation techniques as well as the correct use of adaptive equipment so that they regain confidence and independence. The Speech Pathologists assess and treat individuals who experience communication and swallowing difficulties. After evaluating the individual's speech, language/communication and cognitive/thinking/reasoning skills, they work to enhance or restore the highest possible level of function and ability.
