When it became apparent that my husband was in the last stage of his 5 year cancer journey his Dr recommended that he get with Integris Hospice. I checked on several Hospice providers and settled in on Integris. We were not disappointed with the three nurses, social worker, personal care attendant or the 24 hour a day phone staff. No stone was left unturned in the amount of time, loving care and concern for not only my husband, but to myself and my 2 adult children. They made themselves available anytime and were open to phone contact with other family members who lived out of state. They provided all supplies that he could possibly need and patiently, and lovingly led us through the journey of his last days. Everything was explained so that we understood the entire process. Funny Face

When my mom got to the late stages of Vascular Dementia and Parkinson's Disease, my heart could not stand the thought of putting her in a nursing home. Even though I worked full time, I wanted to take care of her no matter how difficult. My daughter helped me during the day. I wanted my mom to remain in her own home. I had little knowledge of what Hospice does. However, I talked with them and they helped me tremendously the last few weeks of her life with bathing her and providing medicines quickly for her as she needed them. Holding her hand as she took her last breaths was so difficult; however, I was so glad to be there to provide even that small comfort. My tears still flow after nine months of her being gone. She passed March of 2013. Another service Hospice offers is counseling for grief after a loved one's death. I was thankful for their help during this most stressful and sad time. My heartfelt thanks goes to them.
