My mom's living with me now. She was in a hospital late February into April. They had social services person at the hospital and they basically set up the home attendant people. They are the ones that started the ball rolling in getting whatever help I needed for my mother. She had early Alzheimer's from about two years ago. I didn't know that because she still seems normal. When she got sick and ended up in the hospital, she seemed to have gotten worse. She's not completely gone, but there are some moments where she is gone. She's 76 and has a lot of medical issues. The doctors are talking about dialysis, she has diabetes. I haven't had any problems with the caregiver. She makes sure that she eats and makes sure that she reminds her to take her medication. It would be nice if they train the home care attendants to administer certain medications. I have my own health issues that I have to deal with, so I can't be here all the time. I can't really put her in an assisted living situation because it's a lot expensive.
