They were a force for good. All activities at her facility were stopped, but the aides could still go in. I knew my mother was in good hands. I called everyday to talk to my mother and the aide. I could rest easy in another state knowing she was well looked after. They showed respect and care. They hire excellent staff. The aides that looked after my mother were terrific.

Not only does the aide who come help, but there was at least one time when he wasn't available. They were very ready to make a change and fill someone in if necessary. It was as if my needs were the most important thing to them. I was very impressed with the way that they sat and listened carefully to what I was concerned about and hoping for. She asked good questions and she was very reassuring.

I had to go to a physician, and they drove me there. She stayed there and waited for me. It took about 3 hours. They send qualified people over here. The nurse comes by regularly. She does her job in a very interesting and reliable fashion.

The care is for my dad. I can't really leave him alone for much, so knowing someone is with him is a big relief. The biggest thing is that if someone gets sick or goes on vacation, they provide back-up.

We had to have it, and it was good for us. They provided someone who was very prompt and never missed a day, so I could always count on the presence of someone. We only had one caregiver, even though sometimes they have a variety of people. I think my husband was ready for someone else after years of having the same person. They took care of the paperwork for us.

They take care of bathing, dressing, and that kind of activity so that I don't have to do that at all. The aides have not always done all of the requested physical activities. I am not sure if it is a problem with the training or the aides.

Homewatch CareGivers could discuss the caregivers that are going to come prior to their arrival. They have a problem of not wanting to sway your opinion of each caregiver before they come. Homewatch CareGivers also doesn't want to violate the privacy of each caregiver. However, I would appreciate it if they gave a little more indication in regards to the experience of the caregiver. The services are helpful to a point. We are in a situation like many others with elderly, sick family members. There will be long periods of time without a problem, then all of a sudden something will come up, such as nausea or imperative toileting. Homewatch CareGivers' caregivers need to build confidence with their clients during a relatively benign period so that they have a good relationship during critical moments. I understand that this is a challenge for both the agency as well as the family.

I would recommend Homewatch CareGivers because I am satisfied with my caregiver and I think that if someone else needed care, they would be satisfied with this agency too. I am Indian, so there are a lot of things that my caregiver can't do the way I like, but she helps with other things that are basic. We are not sick, we just need some help.
