We're using Comfort Keepers Home Care-Columbia-Ellicott City for my mom. The agency is okay, they promise you the world and then you dial back a lot. You need a two-week heads up if you're not going to work there anymore. We've gotten accustomed to the person they sent over, and we ended up training her since she had to take care of my mom. She wasn't as experienced as I was led to believe. She doesn't speak very good English either. Now that we've trained this person for 2 weeks, it's easier to keep her at this point and she's a nice person. She's very nice, so I enjoy that aspect of her. A lot of the information they sent me got lost in my junk mail, and I was wondering why they're not sending me an invoice. It's easier if they can deduct it directly from my account which I've allowed them to do. It's bothering me a bit because I don't have access to mom's account. Things seem to be okay right now. Accessibility is good, when I need to talk to somebody, I can. They're on-call 24/7. So far, this girl is great about not calling in, she's punctual. I have to leave at 6:00 in the morning; it's hard to find someone to come in at 6:00 in the morning and stay for 10 hours and be accommodating to my days off, which are not the same day every week. They're very accommodating to that. They have an HCA that comes over, she gets mom out of bed, gets her through the shower, and gets her through her ADLs. She changes her diapers, talks to her, cleans her room, and cleans the bathroom. I provide the food for meals that she serves, and she cleans up after mom. She stays there until I get home.
