Harbor Light Hospice - Merrilville / Crown Point

It was our first and only experience with hospice. My dad wanted to stay home, and Harbor Light Hospice came in every day and took care of him. We also hired a couple of ladies from the outside because hospice can’t be there all day long, which we needed. As time went on and my dad needed more care, we had to hire outside care, but the hospice was great as far as supplying everything we needed. We ordered a hospital bed; it was there. Like everything that he needed, it came almost the same day. They're just very organized that way. They were compassionate, understanding, and patient. There are a lot of employees, but they haven’t had a certain nurse, just some different people, assigned to my dad. I would recommend them for anyone, probably, in that area. I haven’t experienced and don’t know what other hospices offer, they’re the only ones we had, but I’d say we’re satisfied. Of course, there were times when we had to wait, and there were days we got upset; but I think it was just the whole situation that made us like that. Because now that I think back, I’m sure they were all doing their job.
