My Mother has balance issues and limited mobility which affects so many parts of her daily life. Home Instead has provided caregivers that help her with dressing and bathing, assistance with meals, walking and exercising, medication reminders, light cleaning and organizing, and - most importantly - with pleasant companionship. They're always on time and she looks forward to what she had come to regard as their "visits". Home Instead has been quick to respond to any requests and works diligently to try to provide her with a regular caregiver and a backup.

I live 1000 miles from my mother and stepfather. Due to the levels of dementia and hearing loss my parents are not a reliable source of information regarding their needs. Their home assistant and local office makes certain I am kept informed of issues and concerns as they arise through their communication procedures. This reliable information allows me the ability to sleep at night. I know that they are getting the things they need and someone is putting eyes on them twice a week. My parents have a relationship with their home assistant that goes beyond basic needs. For my mother, this is a much needed social outlet. She looks forward to these visits. Without Home Instead’s support my parents know they would not be able to remain in their home.

Lied too

In 4 days this company managed to forget my dad's medication twice, forget to fix him lunch, one shift they were 1hour and 45 minutes late and did not call me until she was in route, did not clean up after meals, and absolutely NOT trained in working with elderly dementia patients! All of which was promised to us! Would not hire this company again or recommend them to anyone, not even for pet care!

Towards the end, mom became a high care, and that really weighed in on my budget. She just needed to be watched. When she was pretty continent, they were excellent. But when she got into total care, I just stopped it because the cost would prohibit us. And at that point, I wanted her at my house anyhow. They still came to take care of her. But I've noticed that her care level went up. Even hospice had a hard time doing a lot of stuff. She just wasn't a single person job. She was in so much pain to move her comfortably. It just didn't seem feasible to pay that money. But they're pretty responsive.
