The service is professional and responsive. I have their care providers (PCAs) in my home 6 days a week for nearly 3 years. They are all kind, caring, and try to take very good care of my aunt. My only concern is their overnight care policy. They do not have a rate for non-waking care, and will not accept the Medicaid rate for it. They should offer this for respite care.

Provider Response
No Place Like Home-Care does not offer a sleep rate for non-live-in Personal Care Attendants. Overnight Personal Care Attendants are expected to remain awake and alert during their shift so they can quickly respond to a client in need. The prevailing labor laws do allow for a less expensive “live-in” rate in situations where caregivers reside at the client’s home and get up to 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep. However, this arrangement was not an option for this client.

My mother has received care from "No Place Like Home Care" for several years. She has had 3 or 4 women over the years and each one has been better than the lost. All of them have become her friends even if they moved on. They've allowed my mother, who is now 94, to remain in her own apartment and stay independent. I would not hesitate for a minute to recommend this agency.

We were interested in obtaining the services outlined by our long term cars insurer, John Hancock. Anna needed help that would supplement what she was able to do and what her spouse could do. We interviewed several agencies to insure that we were contracting with the care provider that would meet our needs and be acceptable to the insurer. This is probably the most important step in selecting a provider. No Place Like Home was selected and they met what they promised in the interview and for the service our care giver from that agency has provided during the past year and more. We are quite pleased!

My contact with the scheduling staff at NPLH has been extraordinarily positive, comfortable, and it is clear that the proper care for my parents is the most important priority for the company's staff. They talk with us, meet with my parents, and work to find the best fit for the needs of my, now 96 year old, parents over the last 3 years. The staffing that NPLH have sent to work directly with my parents are exceptional! We had one caregiver that was not the best fit for my parents and NPLH immediately found a new staff person who was a perfect fit. We are happy with the screening process, basic orientation and the peace of mind knowing that NPLH can find backup care givers if some type of emergency arises..

I like the owner of No Place Like Home Care. Although he made a bad decision about a person who was selected to provide the care, I think we were both mislead. But in the end, I don't think that this was a viable solution for my mom, even if the caregiver was perfect. It was simply too intrusive into her living quarters. And that's not the fault of the agency. I did not regret trying it because my mother got to experience that, and her subsequent move from independent living to assisted living went much more smoothly as a result. I would still recommend them to others.

An elderly client of mine received services in her home from No Place Like Home-Care for over two years and we were very pleased with this agency. The home health aides and homemakers were professional and reliable and obviously properly screened. There was never once an issue of any kind with the staff from this agency. I would whole-heartedly recommend this agency to anyone in need of a home health care aide, a companion or a home maker.
