I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

The Renaissance Assisted Living in Weston/Wausau was an excellent facility. I highly recommend it. I've met the staff many times. They're very good. They offer meals. On Fridays, they always had a get-together with music and snacks and drinks for people. They did a luau one time when my friend was there and they had friends come in, so they do a lot of activities. They have a hairdresser onsite. They have a little library. The other nice thing is they have physical therapy and nursing home care there, so if there's a couple in there and one of them ends up going into nursing care, they're close. I just feel like these are all very big pluses.

I visited this facility

The Renaissance Assisted Living in Weston/Wassau seemed very homey. There are a lot of things for my in-laws to do. They can have certain doctor visits if they need one, and they test their staff and residents for COVID two times per week, and they have had no COVID cases since. The actual unit that my in-laws will live in is almost 700 square feet, and has a separate bedroom, bath, and living area. So, that appealed to us. I only met two different people from the staff so far, and they were both very knowledgeable and very flexible in their options. They just opened their dining room and it looked very large. They have a fitness room, a salon, and church services. They also do travel shows for people who want to learn about different countries. They were having a piano concert, too. The place looked very clean and well-maintained. Everything was in good condition. They come and clean the rooms for the residents once a week. They said they were just going to be replacing the carpet and all of the hallways of the facility, and have their apartments repainted and the flooring redone in there so that it's brand new.

My father was at Renaissance Assisted Living - Weston for a while. It's a pretty nice place, and the staff was friendly. His room looked really nice. The care was OK. They're friendly at times, and not friendly at other times. My dad said sometimes everyone was crabby, but from what we could see, everybody was very attentive, which he said was true. There is always somebody helping him. He never said a lot about the food. They didn't have anything due to COVID, and he was pretty much in his room most of the time. Otherwise, they have activities. I know he had cable, and he really liked that. The facility was clean. They're really good with watching people concerning COVID and making sure everybody was clean, and they always have someone by the reception area, so when you call for things, there's someone there. Communication was really good. At first, we had a couple of hiccups, but otherwise it was pretty good.

Renaissance Assisted Living - Weston has a very large dining room. There's a side room with some beverages, a very nice sitting area and library area. It's a very attractive and warm facility. They have bulletins to keep people knowledgeable of what's going on. My brother is in assisted living and he likes the food. They offer bingo, aerobics several times a day during morning and afternoon, musical entertainment, Happy Hour on Fridays, and a bus that takes people shopping and special activities like concerts. We have been very pleased with everything and the people.

I chose Renaissance Assisted Living for my mom because the administrator there seemed to be very updated on everything that's going on there. It was very clean and they have enough staff. It was pretty nice. My mother seems to like the food there a lot. She also enjoys the stuff that they do there. I'm happy so long as my mother's happy there.

The Renaissance was a very nice building. My father lived there for a couple of months. They have a bunch of activities and an exercise room, they have musicians come in and do small, craft activities; however, the staff didn't do a good job of encouraging their residents to do the activities. If you have an active senior, they would do it, but for the ones that weren't very social, they don't encourage them.

I visited this facility

Renaissance Assisted Living seemed fantastic. There's lots of activities, and they had 1- and 2-bedrooom apartments, 3 meals a day, and beautiful accommodations. The staff seemed very pleasant and knew everybody's names and everybody was greeting them. The residents kept hugging the person that was showing me around, and I really liked that. It almost had a luxury resort type of atmosphere. I wanted to move in there. Their pricing is $4200, and obviously it goes up according to what tier you're at with the help that you need.

I visited this facility

We didn't like Renaissance. The main reason was because it seemed more like an apartment building. It had three floors and we didn't like that. The staff's work ethic seemed good for the brief time that we were there.

I visited this facility

Our visit with Renaissance Assisted living was very productive. We had a lot of questions answered. It was a very nice facility. They were in the top of our list as far as assisted living facility was concerned. We saw their apartment and it was very nice, spacious and easy to maneuver around. Additional storage was available in the basement of the facility. They do have activity service. The staff was very pleasant and we felt that they really wanted us to join them. We have seen a lot and they had tremendous amount to offer.
