"Primrose Retirement Community of Wausau was very nice. The advantage to Primrose is that the bottom unit has a screen porch. You can just go out the porch and get in your car or whatever, rather than having to go down a hall and go in an elevator. We got on their waiting list. It's very nice and very expensive. It's smaller than the other place, but they kept it very nice. It was a little newer. The two-bedroom was a little smaller, but it was well-kept. The people were friendly, and we had lunch, and the food was good. They had an ice cream shop, a bar, a movie theater, and a beauty salon. They had extra facilities that you can use."

"My mother will be moving into Forest Park Village. It is a very friendly facility. Everyone has been very helpful as far as making her welcome and making her feel that she's going to be a part of their community. The least I like is, as in a lot of other places, they are a little short-staffed. So, it's hard getting somebody to help out, but they're doing the best they can. My sister-in-law's mother is a resident there, and so that also is helping in getting my mom acclimated to knowing someone who's already there. I've been helped by Dana, and she's been very, very helpful. Her apartment is spacious. I believe they call it the promenade deck. With all the activities they have available for my mom, in the hope of knowing someone who;s already a resident there, I'm thinking this is going to be a great move for her."

"Applegate Terrace is a relatively brand-new place, very well kept, and very appealing. So far, everything has been top notch; I do not have any complaints. I was there for a week, and the nursing staff and the assistants were totally fine and quite active with things that they can be involved in. The food looked good, and the dining area was pleasant. It was a beautiful location; you can look out at the mountain. I think the food is good, and mom has put on weight."

"Willow Brooke was very good. The director who took us around and showed us the facilities seemed highly qualified and very competent. The rooms were roomy, very bright and light, nicely decorated, and very efficient. They had extensive programs and activities like people coming in to visit and present things, exercise, entertainment, and socialization, so there's a great variety of activities. The food looked good."

"We went to VitaCare Living Stratford. The staff was very helpful and welcoming, answered all our questions, and proudly showed us their facility, so we're very happy with our reception there. They have outdoor spaces. Along each side of the building, that's the long part of the building, there was an overhang awning thing with chairs and a little outdoor table. And then on one side of the building it was uncovered so you could sit in the sun. So, there were two at least that we saw. One was quite large on one side of the building, and then a smaller gathering place on the other."
