I toured Songbird Pond. It looks like a very nice place, but their paperwork says that when you run out of money, they find a different facility for you. They also do not take Medicaid. The room that was shown to us was a nice-sized one. The staff member who was supposed to give me the tour wasn't there. They had activities, but I don't remember what they were. Their dining areas were confusing for me. They were in different areas. It would be very confusing for the residents to go back and forth to find their rooms. I didn't like that. The dining place I checked is very small, but they sit down all together at the same table to eat, and I like that.

My friend is a current resident of Songbird Pond. The layout is pretty nice, and the rooms are nice. The only problem that I have is that they have a big turnover. That's the only sad thing about that place. It's a bit expensive, too, unless you're on Medicare or Medicaid. I just don't like their turnover; they can't seem to keep people. Their service is pretty good. My friend has somebody that really cares about her. The staff members are clean, too. Right now, they're on lockdown because one of their employees tested positive. They are in their rooms right now. However, their activities are pretty good when they're not on lockdown. They'll have someone come for music on holidays, they have bingo and games, and they have a hairstylist that will come for them. My friend is very organic with her food. She doesn't like the fact that they have a lot of starchy stuff and I hear about that all the time. They have a salad bar and they have fruits, so it's not bad.
