"What I liked most about BeulahLand Assisted Living was the price. The least favorable was the appearance. As far as the nicer parts of how it looks, the porch where people can sit and look out is good, but there really isn't too much to look at. The dining and recreation area weren't real cozy or comfortable looking. It's kind of a one big room, and it's plain. I don't think a lot of people would like the looks of that place compared to others that I've been in before. It looked old. They said it was an old school building. As far as cleanliness, I didn't see any issues there. It looked clean enough. Even in the bedrooms or apartment part of it, it doesn't look like it would be very comfortable for sitting or lying down. The staff was good. She was informative, seemed to know what she was talking about, gave me the information I wanted, and answered my questions. They have a beauty salon. They have an activity room, which I guess they use it for more than one thing, but it doesn't look good there. It's just a big, wide open room with chairs around the outside of it."

"My father was a resident here, it was unexpected that he had to be placed there after a fall. I had no idea what to do to secure him long time care or how we were going to pay for it. the staff from the very first day he was there was absolutely amazing. They took excellent care of my Father and they helped me every step of the way. Unfortunately my Dad passed away there, but the kindness, compassion and care that everyone there showed my family in the time my Dad was there were in my opinion unbeatable. Thank you to each staff member there, you are the best."

"Sundale nursing home in Morgantown, West Virginia is one of the nicer nursing homes in the state if you ask me. My grandmother is a resident of the home and has been staying there for over a year now. The quality of care she receives at Sundale is better than anyone could have provided her in her own home. The nurses I feel really do care at Sundale and that counts for a lot. I have read some horror stories about nursing homes staff not giving the kind of deserving care some of the older patients deserve. At first I wasn't down with sending my grandmother to Sundale but after visiting the home I found it to be clean, well-kept, and very warm and inviting. The home has activities for the residents and they can eat meals in a cafeteria together with other residents. The family aspect at Sundale is very important and is just another reason Sundale is an exceptional nursing home. "

"I have visited my grandmother on several occassions over the past year. The facility has always been clean and grams has never looked better! They have beautician services available and she has always had her hair and nails done each time that I have visited. The facility also hosts events for the family to attend with the residents several times per year. I, along with other family members, attended the Holiday event held in November 2011 and was very impressed with the meal that was served to us. The food was very good, and grams stated that they eat like that "every meal". There are many activities for her to participate in, as well as shopping excursions and bingo. Any time she has fallen or required medical attention, the staff contacts us promptly to discuss the issue. I am very pleased with the facility and the staff of the Madison. "

"I was in rehab at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Morgantown. I was there for about a month. The care was spot on, and I had very good caregivers. My PT was the primary person assigned to me, and she really advocated for me when I had an issue with something. She really kept me going, attitude-wise, because it was a bad leg break. The food was also excellent. They have outdoor spaces, and the gym is the physical therapy room. We had three hours of therapy a day, and it was very difficult, so mostly, I was just resting when I wasn't in those three hours of therapy and eating. The day was just kind of taken up between therapy, which started at eight or nine, and around meals that could go till four or four thirty, so it was a pretty full day. I chose this facility for myself because my dad had also been there, and I liked the way they were with him. The therapy team kind of pulled him into the routine, and they did a good job with him."

"I was too there for 3 months as a patient. The people on staff were always friendly and helpful. The therapy staff is excellent. Food was fair. There were some missteps with my discharge protocol and paperwork that could be handled better."

"Very professional and helpful staff. The facility is geared more for residents who are not as active and mobile. There are not a lot of activities as some other facilities. Excellent care of residents. "

"The rooms at this facility are somewhat small, and almost all of them have two patients staying in each room. There doesn't seem to be a lot of privacy for the residents. Not just the elderly are taken care of here, there are also patients recovering from illness or surgeries here, as well as severely handicapped people. The staff seem to genuinely care about the patients here, and the most of them are very experienced. Aside from the size of the facility, which is the only negative aspect, it is a very clean place that has been decorated nicely. Whenever we would call to check on our father, the staff was always very polite, and gave us the information that we were seeking. All of them treated my father very kindly, helping him eat, keeping him clean, and giving him company. "

"My mom spent a couple of months at Cortland Acres. They don't have enough people to take care of the people they have. Everybody that I talked to seemed nice. My mom's room wasn't very big, but it was clean. They had stuff going on like Bingo and there were people coming in to sing. It seemed everybody was well-fed and got plenty."

"Not impressed. My mother was hospitalized for dehydration, fell and broke her leg, no fresh fruit or vegetables, "homemade" was from a box, mix, or can. Dominoes Pizza was served for dinner the first night I visited. Two patients were completely immobilized and couldn't move from their chairs without assistance even to move a wheelchair. "

"The staff at this facility really cares about it's residents. We have a family friend that has been there for a long time. They take excellent care of him. They are advocates for the residents there. "

"We placed my mom here December 2019. She was struggling with senility and could no longer live alone. After visiting several local facilities, we chose Kings. It impressed us that it looked like a home. Many of the higher priced homes in the area looked like a hallway that simply had a row of doors that led to the rooms. At Kings, the staff is right there near the residents. They aren't far away at all if your loved one needs help. Their staff is so attentive and caring to everyone. My mom loved to eat and these ladies are excellent cooks and cook from scratch. This means so much to the residents. My mom did pass away in October. She had Hospice there also to help but I had peace of mind that she did not die alone. I have health problems and couldn't be there with her. A friend of mine has a father who was in a local nursing home paying thousands a month. He was not getting the care he needed and kept ending up in the hospital. I told him about Kings. He went the next day and his father moved in a few days later. His Dad is very happy now and I'm glad I could recommend Kings to them. You will not be disappointed if you choose Kings for your loved one."
