"Summit Square is a lovely place. We have several friends that live there so we know quite a bit about it. We went and got some more information and we looked at the variety of accommodations that they have there. The staff was very knowledgeable and very warm. As I said, we have friends that live there and they're very satisfied with this place. I have eaten there many times and it's good. They also do some catering of lunches for civic groups. We had them catered for our group and their food is always good and their menu is always varied. With regards to activities, they did have a bus that takes people to concerts, etc. They just had a Christmas dinner where they could invite a few friends to join in for the meals. They have ongoing card games and I know that people would come in and do performances there. In general, they did have a fairly good variety of activities for their residents. What I like best about this place is its location. It's one of the two closest ones in the area where we live, so it wouldn't be moving at greater distance as some of the other places. Regarding recommendations, I would recommend that they at least consider this place. "

"Avante was very clean. But like most nursing homes they're underpaid and overworked. There were too many people to care for. But I don't blame them. My father had Alzheimer's and he was in the process of getting hospice when he passed. "

"My husband was at Waynesboro Manor for awhile. Their environment was very good, and his room was very nice. I was very pleased with all of their staff. My experience there was very good until the last day. I found him sitting in a room by himself very soiled and dehydrated. I think they need to check on their patients more often. "

"We had a tour at The Lodge at Old Trail, and I think it was lovely. It looked like a relatively small, clean, caring place. What impressed me was that they also had an independent living facility, which I like because I can be close to my husband while he is in the memory care area. The food was good. "

"Our Mother has lived at English Meadows since Sept. 2021. She shares over and over how she loves her room and the beautiful view of the mountains. We noted the staff that come in to serve her relate like old friends and family making her feel right at home. Mom has significant dementia but has always felt welcomed and supported. She can't remember what she had for lunch by mid-afternoon, but she remembers the food is good. She enjoys the fellowship of the dining room and is assisted by staff to join. When conditions do not support being in the dining room they serve her a meal in her favorite easy chair in her room in front of the TV. If you were to drop in and visit, she would welcome you in like an old friend even though she can't remember you or may never have met you. That in part is due to the feeling of safety and comfort English Meadows staff provide. We would recommend this facility to anyone who is looking for a place for their loved one!"

"Regency at Augusta was very beautiful. The staff gave us an excellent tour of the facility. We met a lot of them and they were all very pleasant. Everything that we saw looked OK. They had a library, a community room, and they also had a hairdresser. They had a lot of activities like puzzles, card games, and Bible studies."

"I was in unit 2 from 11-15-19to 12-5-19 and the staff was very attentive to my every need 24 hours a day. My room was cleaned daily and my medication was given as prescribed on time. I had physical therapy and occupational therapy twice a day for 2 broken legs and they were very careful with my treatment.The staff from the CNA's to the nurses and Dr. Mike answered any questions my family and I had and i was well cared for during my stay. If i have to return to a facility in the future they will be my first choice. The only negative thing i have is the food. If you have someone there, please, take them something they like to eat. Thanks to the staff."

"Overall the Living Waters facility was accommodating and provided an intimate environment for my grandparents. We liked that the facility was a smaller remodelled house instead of a more institutionalized building. The staff was polite and when we experienced problem staff - management responded quickly. Food was always sub-par but again since the overall facility was large - the kitchen and dining areas were close enough to talk with the cooks - which made the overall feeling comfortable. We were disappointed with the lack of daily activities - most residents watched television most of the time. "

"All I can say Is Wow! Shenandoah Nursing was the best choice for our father. My family began looking for long term care for my father and we've been on Shenandoah's wait list for a long while. I can see now why there Is a wait list. The staff are wonderful, treated each one of my sisters and our father like he was family. They went above and beyond what you would expect to make our father comfortable and he's a particular gentleman to say the least. Everyone there Is happy to be there, staff included and It shows. The director of nursing and her team of nursing staff always made us feel comfortable. Invited us to call or stop in at anytime. What a relief that was to us knowing our father was getting the best care. The facility Is immaculate, food was great and we didn't want for anything while our father was a resident. "I have visited The Retreat at Fishersville, and I love the place. It was just more expensive than the community we ended up choosing. They showed me a studio, a 1-bedroom, and a basic nursing home room. They were fine. They had day trips. They had a library and an activity room. They had things like bingo. They also had a courtyard and patios."

"I went to Birch Gardens of Royal Care. It is a very pleasant location and a very nicely designed facility. Big space. It had plenty of places for the residents to sit and enjoy games and activities and a nice garden out back. The bedrooms and the bathrooms are all well-designed for people with varying degrees of disability. The staff is very respectful and helpful. The building is very attractive and very clean. It's an older building, but it's well-kept."

"Oak Grove Manor was very good. It was set back from the road, so my mom wouldn't be able to run to it, but they wouldn't take her. The people were very kind. Even though they wouldn't take her, it was an excellent facility, and I would have loved to have my mom there."

"I toured Birch Ridge. I like that it's small. I like the grounds. The man couldn't have been nicer to answer my questions. I've had a good experience. The facility was very clean. It probably needs to be modernized and updated. It has the feel of being old, but it was clean. The rooms are nice, but their common area, the furniture, it's old."
