We are extremely pleased with Stuarts Draft Retirement Community and Christian Homes. It is a Christian community. I have sisters and brothers that go by there. We have developed a first-name basis on the attendance. They're extremely educated and well versed in caring for elderly people. We find them to be extremely helpful. We are very pleased. Mom wants to come home, of course, but knowing that that's not possible anymore, we are pleased that she's getting the care that we feel she needs. She's just in assisted living. The dining area is pleasing. The rooms are normal sized and it has an adjoining bathroom. We have requested a single room with a bathroom, but it wasn't available yet. The one that she has is adjoining. There are two rooms supplied by the one bathroom.
She seems to be happy with the meals. I don't think any of us have gone to eat a meal with them, but she seems to be pleased with it. They have personal care. They have people that come in to do hair and nails and stuff like that. There's a lady that comes in and does exercise with them if they wanted therapy. There's a doctor that visits the site once a week. They have church services on Sunday morning. During the week, they have craft classes.

My mother moved into Stuarts Drafts Retirement Community, it's very nice, and we liked it very much. The food is very good, and the staff is very nice, and attentive. They serve a dinner meal daily, there's an additional charge for that, and they have an activity calendar that has trips, tea parties, bingo, exercising, movies, and music every week. They have a physical therapy company that is located there, but they charge for the physical therapy of course. It's very clean, well-cared for, she has a very nice studio apartment with a full kitchen and comfortable bathroom, but they also have 1 and 2-bedrooms. Some are in a buildings, and some are separate, like in a house setting. It's family-owned, and the family is on site frequently. It has a great reputation in the community. The price is the most reasonable we found anywhere, and it's in a beautiful, rural location. She has a great mountain view, so it's very pretty.

My parents have been in Stuarts Draft Retirement Community and Christian Homes. They have a two-bedroom apartment in the main complex, and it comes with a kitchen, a dining area, and a little Juliet deck. It's clean, has carpeting, central heating air, and they're very happy in that complex. They're down the hall from the dining area, and then they are just an elevator away from a fitness center, the library, and the game room.
The community itself also offers one-bedroom apartments, and they have two or three different sizes. They have a nice variety of floor plan options, in addition to semi-detached houses around the campus. The staff is very polite and very friendly too. They have a hair cutter that comes once a week every Thursday, and in the chapel downstairs there's a place that's partly a library, and there are exercise machines scattered throughout near the chapel. On the top floor, there's another library, with stationary bicycles, and running-type machines. It's kind of a dispersed setup.
The foods are a la carte, and separate on their contracts, but my parents are diabetic and they do not offer a special menu for that.
