"This is a small facility, sixteen resident capacity, and the facility itself is not overly beautiful or anything, but this facility has a lot of heart. I've rarely seen a facility that puts as much emphasis on family then this one does. The staff bends over backwards to accommodate family visits, even if they aren't at the best times. They also invite family to all the parties and get togethers and encourage family participation. I've never visited this facility without seeing at least two or three different residents with visitors at any given time, and they're always talking and laughing and generally just having a good time. I also always see children there visiting their grandparents or great grandparents. They literally just light the place up. "

"I was very impressed with Spring Gardens Midvale. The rooms were very nice. They had a little kitchenette with a small fridge and a microwave, and a little countertop with a sink. There was a bed, a chair, and a small couch. I liked the way the bathrooms were arranged to the bed. It was easier for the resident to get up and get into the bathroom in the evening than have to go around the room to get to it. It was a small facility with not a lot of residents, which was what I liked about it the most. The furnishings were nice. Lindsey, the tour guide, was fabulous. She gave me a couple of different options that she thought would work for my husband. They had a garden area for them to go out to, and they had an outdoor fireplace. They had a little bistro that they could go to throughout the day for a snack if they wanted one."

"My father is in Crescent Senior Living. He's in assisted living, although I also toured the memory care. It's glowing reviews for both sides. They're amazing. It is bright, cheerful and inviting. They have amenities for the families coming to visit, as well as the residents. They talk like it's a community and not an assisted living center. They talk like it's an apartment complex for everybody. Everything is welcoming. The staff is welcoming. You first walk through the door, and there's a staff at the front desk that welcomes you. After two visits, they remembered who I was coming to visit. It was just amazing. When my father moved in, they had a board at the front with balloons and telling him, Welcome Home. They were excited for him to come. The cleaning staff and the staff that brings food or helps them to the dining hall are amazing. They treat him like he is their grandfather. The staff is amazing. I had a sandwich and heavenly cookies. My picky father devours everything that they put before him. The facility is clean and inviting. They have pool tables, air hockey tables, a library, and patios. They even have a garden center that you can go out and plant things in. They have tons of activities. The games they were playing with the residents were adorable. They're very hands on with their residents. They are so incredibly creative with their activities. They have folk songs. People come in and take requests for singing certain songs. They're very attentive to age brackets and what music that they would like. They take field trips and go out to grocery stores and let them shop for themselves. Every day, there's an activity at 3:00. Everybody meets in the common area, and there's some type of an activity, either a bingo or a card game, like poker. Some of the residents in the assisted living put on workshops for the other residents. If you are a woodworker, they have some tools for you to do some of your carvings or your paintings. There is an activities book that you can sign up for anything. They'll come and ask you to come participate. They have a book club. They have an ice cream machine. Everything is just fun. I am stunned with what we pay for and what they do for him."

"They're only as good as the staff and they're only as good as the direct care staff in the facility. Whether medications are given or handed to the residents, whether or not they actually do that appropriately, and whether there's supervision by a nurse which is usually isn't there every day, I'm not sure that that's done really well. "

"I liked Valencia at Draper. The views from the rooms weren't great, but inside, it was very nice. I liked the staff a lot. The facility was nice, clean, and comfortable, but there's not much outside space."

"I visited Olympus Ranch for a tour. The place was fantastic and nicely kept. The rooms were very nice, and the staff was very friendly. The menu looked very good. The location was very nice. It did not smell like a hospital. "

"Spring Gardens Draper is wonderful. It is clean and new. They have a wonderful staff, who were great to personalize our walk through. They made the transition of my mother-in-law very easy. They have exercise classes, social activities, walking, and a hair salon. We see my mother-in-law every day, and she is doing great. They also have a library, an ice cream parlor, an outdoor park area, and a craft room. I had a meal there, and it was delicious. They have a wonderful chef."

"This is a lovely independent living community, with a very ind and friendly staff. The only issue for me was the rent amount, which was a little out of my range as I only have a very smallSS income to rely on."

"Legacy Village of Sugar House had an amazing gym. It's a beautiful facility that reminded me of living in a hotel. It wasn't wide and flat like most of them are. It was more vertical and had great views of the city and mountains. They had a really nice common space and a movie room. Their rooms had shared balconies. They had an activities calendar and you can also go on foot to do some local shopping like to the grocery store, which made it convenient."

"I visited Capital Hill Senior Living. It was a very, very nice facility but the price is just too much. I was very impressed. When I walked right in, there was a fireplace, and you could see into the dining area. There were people siting, visiting, and playing games. The receptionist was very pleasant. They took me to one of the rooms; it was a nice room. It had a nice size bathroom, and a nice size closet. It was not a walk-in closet, but it had a nice size. There is a good size area for bed, dresser, and stuff. It has a nice window. It is a very well-lit room. From what I saw of the place, it was very nice. They had a big space with a TV, and chairs for people to sit and watch TV or just to relax. The dining area was nice. The location is right at downtown Salt Lake City. It was easy to get to, and is a very nice area uptown. I had two women that showed me around, and they were both very nice, informative, and understanding of my concerns. Even though I did not want to put my mother there now, it is open for the future when things become different, and we need to change her facility."

"Our family was looking for Independent Living for our father. I was familiar with Parklane but it was not in the location we prefered. After looking at many other places, none could compare. Some were pretty with open grounds but the apts. were small and dark and overall just didn't offer the full package. Not only is Parklane beautiful but the apts. were larger and more inviting. (more home-like), the atrium invited you in and everyone from staff to residents were so friendly. As dad has lived here, we have come to realize that the inconvenience of driving further out of our way wasn't as important as where he lives. The staff is so amazing,the food is delicious and the activities keep our dad having the quality of life we all hoped for. We as a family are thrilled with this lifestyle he is enjoying. We made the right choice! "

"It was lovely and very homey. The rooms were large. They had kitchenette facilities. It was quaint. They have things that my sister would be interested in like book club and writer’s club, so it is for more functioning folks. We would really like her to be there. There were some people in the crafts room doing craft activities. "

"Besides the size, BeeHive seems more like a home. The other ones were more like apartments to me, and I like more of a homey feel. It had all the bedrooms around the big living area, and I like that setup for my mother. The staff is really good. They’re really helpful with her needs and, if she needs anything, they always let me know. They seem to treat everyone with a lot of respect, and I’m very happy with that. They have activities every day, different types of music performers come in and perform regularly, church services, and a nice patio area that when the weather is nice, you could come out there, and things like that. "

"Saratoga View Senior Living is a very nice facility. I went there to visit my brother and sister-in-law. It's brand new and very nice. The staff members that we've had experience with are delightful. They are very friendly, very helpful, and willing to take you and walk you down to the room if necessary. They've just been very helpful and very kind. They've treated my brother and sister-in-law very nicely. My sister-in-law has Celiac so she has to eat gluten-free food, and it's not appetizing. For some reason, they're feeding my brother the same thing. So they're unhappy with the food. The facility though is beautiful."
