I am/was a resident of this facility

I grew up in a medical household and I understand the challenges of hospitals and 24-hour nursing care facilities. I was transferred from the hospital to Riverton Transitional Rehabilitation Care to complete my recovery from a severe cellulitis infection. They provided a special air mattress as my skin could not have any pressure on it. Due to Covid, there were periods when there was a staffing shortage, which means it took longer – on occasion – for someone to respond to the call button. My private room was clean, the staff was great. After the hospital, my hair was a mass of tangles. The staff patiently combed out the tangles and braided my hair. And, as comfort food, they would bring me a small soda float any time – day or night. No facility is perfect. Recovery from cellulitis [an infection under the skin] was NOT a short or easy process. I am VERY grateful for the EXCELLENT professional care, kindness and attention to my unique medical needs. If I ever need Skilled Nursing care again, returning to Riverton will be my first choice.

We had several issues with this place. Upon arrival the man transporting mom was inappropriately rubbing her legs, admin did nothing. Mom was here a total of 6 days. In the first 4, she fell 4 times. The last time she fell, they wouldn’t answer the phones for 1.5 hours. We had to call an ambulance to go and make sure she was ok. Covid protocols were not followed. The admin of this place Kristie, was unprofessional and was more concerned with filling a bed than moms well being. Do not send someone you love here. It’s a hole. The furnishings are old and cheap. The walls were dirty and damaged. The window was not secure during the duration of the stay. We could open it from the outside. The care givers seemed to do thier best, under the circumstances. They took away moms wheelchair, and walker and left her trapped in bed. She would call me 4-5 times a day, crying and begging to be rescued. Social services was investigating them by the time we were able to get her out.

Do not send your loved one here. This place is disgusting. If I could leave negative stars I would. The way they treated my grandma was horrible. The way they spoke to us just as bad. The things we witnessed would be best said as neglectful. Seeing nurse/cna not wear a mask and cough into her hands and not wash them but continue touching everything terrifying. My family member left in worse shape then when she arrived and is now back in the hospital

The overall care from the aids a d nurses is superb. They severely lack in communicating and in follow through with pstients. Management/directors(admit team and Aocial worker) dont relay information to patients or nurses or aids. Aids don't make the bed in morning's or change sheets frequently. Takes for-ever for an aide to help if you ring the call light. They're severely understaffed for CNA'S. They dont tirn off your oxygen tank in the morning so it keeps on and wastes oxygen that the insurance is paying for. When they implement policies for the Corona virus its relayed 3rd party not one to one with patients. The rooms are mostly semi private , shared and divided by a cloth dividing curtain. With the Corona virus activities are cancelled (with no written notice to patients other than the community caleon the wall) for the mid to end of month. The building itself is very homelike with a fireplace in the lobby. Nice dining room. Though the kitchen staff or aides dont ask what choice of breakfast the patient wants, nor meat, nor beverage. Lots of natural light. Transport team for appointments. The therapists dont give a chance to eat breakfast before knocking on your door to take you to workout in the mornings. It's very convenient to IHC hospital and doctors.

The rooms are terrible, they had a bed with a two inch mattress that was about five feet long. My husband is 6 feet. I told them to put bars against his bed because he is used to a king size bed. They told me it was against the rules. l think I said that at least five times, he needs bars so he won't roll out. Well he did fall out and hit his side tray. He broke three ribs and hurt his shoulder. They must have let him lie there for awhile because he got pneumonia, it was touch and go there for awhile. The rooms were so cold I ask them to raise the heat because he was freezing, they told me the maintenance man had gone home and wouldn't be back tell Monday. I should have taken him home after they lied to me. Larry wanted to come home and we were going to bring him. They said if I took him out my Insurance wouldn't pay. I called medicare and they said that was not true. Any ways second time to the hospital. Be sure if you ever have to put your loved ones in a care center check out reviews and even go visit. I would not put my dog in this place.

I want to warn anyone who loves their family members to stay away from this place. They left my mother in worse condition that she ended up having to go back to the emergency room. The first day she was there no one checked on her from about 3 p.m until 10:30 at night. That is when they gave her a feeding through her feeding tube. The next morning my mom calls me asking if I can bring her food. They were over an hour late bringing it to her and it was ice cold. Every day she asked them for creams she needed for severe like burns and they kept telling her they were out of the kind she needed. Then, another day goes by and they say "maybe they can go to the store for some." They ended up FORCING her to put MENTHOL on her burns that made is 100x worse. Right now she is at the hospital and they are absolutely HORRIFIED. One of the days she was there towards the end they gave her lidocaine. They made her wait for a doctor for lidocaine for another time she needed the cream. Then, the day before she left.. a nurse told her they were out and when my mom begged she told her, "I'll go check but if I don't come back it means we are out." She never came back. Next day my mom asks to be taken to the emergency room. She was supposed to be watched for also impacted bowls and they didn't watch that all week either. They were annoyed with her and told her to wait for the doctor. She called me 2 hours later and still no doctor but somehow the nurse magically found more lidocaine when my mom was begging to leave as off 11 my mom still hadn't seen the doctor. She was there an entire week and not once did my brother, anyone visiting or I ever see a nurse, cna or doc in her room. They neglected my mother. We sent her there because the hospital thought she would be taken better care of at home and they neglected her. She was sobbing as they forced her to put menthol on her burns. Begging for help. Not one as there every anyone at the front desk either. I rarely saw employees. This place is a disaster and I feel absolutley horrible for anyone's family members who are there. My brother was a CNA and told us horror stories of some of the places he worked. Never did I think we would experience. Stay AWAY from this place.

Rocky Mountain Care - Riverton is very clean and the staff is very nice. They are making sure my mom-in-law gets physical and occupational therapies most of the day. It’s a really nice and well-cared-for place. They also have great activities like art classes and workshops, games, and other things to keep the seniors active and wanting to participate. The staff has been very nice, very knowledgeable, and helpful. It is a community-type nursing facility.

My dad has been there for five weeks and it's been a nightmare of all nightmares. We've had one problem after another starting with the bed pan. It would take them forever to take my dad off his bed pan and it would hurt his back where he had surgery. When they would dump his bed pan they threw it all over the seat, floor, walls then they would wash it out in the shower leaving the poop to sit all over the bathroom. Then they would bring my dad in to shower with poop on the shower head and all over the shower floor. Mind you my dad has open wounds on his toes that could get the nasty bacteria in his foot and cause severe problems. My mom asked them 4-8 times a day to please please clean up the poop they did not clean it up. Second we had a nurse named merilyn that told us she wouldn't help my dad with his picc line on news years day saying that she was off in two minutes and she would send the next nurse in when she got there. We thought my dads picc line had been pulled out of his arm which was a serious matter to address. There was only a hand full of staff members that would give my dad good care. He was a very sick man that had 5 MAJOR surgeries. They would never respond to the call lights. They would let the picc line machine go off for over an hour before responding to shut it off. I could go on and on with horrible stories about them. I would not even send my sick dog to them. They have no compassion or concern for their patients. Don't let your loved ones go through the hell that my dad endured. He is now at a different rehab and they treat him like a human being that deserves to live.
