My dad is staying at Holland Lake Rehabilitation and Wellness Center for long-term care. I like the staff. Donna is the executive director. She's extremely caring and explains everything very nicely. Rhonda, the head nurse there, is also very kind and understanding. They keep me updated on Dad's progress. The facility is extremely clean, with no odors typically found in some places, and the location's good for us, and we like it. They do exercise, puzzles, and trivia. They have music. People come in and do music time with the patients. They also have a rehab facility.

Holland Lake was a little dark, or not as lit up as I would have expected. It was gloomier in my book, and I think it needs to be brighter. It would be nice to have a little bit of a makeover. If you're going to live there, you want to make it happier and inviting. I saw the nurses' station and a couple of halls. It was not very inviting to me. I didn't like that. The rooms were average. They're kind of small when you have to share dressers and closets. To me, that's just hard, but we do what we have to do. The staff members were nice, though. They tried to answer questions. It was the atmosphere that I didn't find warm and cozy.

Horrible place. They do not care about the residents. My mom went 6 mos. with broken glasses, would sometimes go 3 weeks without a bath, had to call me and have me call them because she waited an hour for someone to take her to the bathroom. No one noticed that she had been sick for days until it was to late. She went to the ER at noon and died 6 1/2 hrs later. No explanation and a lot of denial.

The nurses and meals have exceed expectations. They get a choice of entrees at each meal. The nurses have provided a quick response to personal needs.

My dad is at Holland Lake. They have everything. The place is beautiful. They offer dominoes, and they have people that come in and sing on Sunday. My dad seems very happy there. We haven't had the chance to necessarily take advantage of all of the amenities, but anyway he is doing very well with it. He is close enough to where I can go see him everyday. The care is exceptional. All of his needs are being met. It is a very nice place. It has always been absolutely immaculate. It is very clean. Everybody is very friendly. Dad has already made a couple of friends. The food is wonderful. There has been plenty of it. They always have snacks available.
