We had a good experience at La Hacienda. My mother is physically totally dependent on others for her care, even though her mind is still sharp. She was at La Hacienda for rehab & then stayed for several months. She was very well cared for, & she sometimes said, "I love this place." If there was something we wanted modified, the administrators listened & tried hard to accommodate. The staff is welcoming, helpful & friendly, even when they are busy. Mom liked and participated in most of the many activities, especially the music, crafts, holiday celebrations, religious events. She liked to chat with the staff, & they were so nice in return. It's an older facility, and the rooms are typical hospital/nursing home-style, but they're big enough for what my mom needed, and she was not in her room most of the time anyway. Food was pretty good but if mom wanted something other than what was being served, she would just ask for the alternative & the staff would bring it for her.
