My 94 year old Mother has been a resident of Houston County Nursing Home for eleven years. She is cared for in a very professional manner and her physical needs are always met. But I consider it to be equally important that the staff makes a great effort to see that somebody is available to go to Walmarts for her when she wants the candy she loves or to obtain the shampoo she especially likes. I try to do these things for her too but there is no other family to be involved with her and I especially appreciate the many thoughtful things done for her. When he returned from the hospital after being diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer the owner of the nursing home, Dennis Brown, came to her room, gave her a big hug and told her how sorry he was that this was her diagnosis. Just one of the many sweet, caring, thoughtful things the folks at Houston County Nursing Home do for my dear mom.
