My husband spent the last 2 years & 4 months in the memory care wing at Clyde Cosper. He passed away on February 5, 2025. The care he received was amazing. He was honored every day. The staff ay Clyde Cosper is exceptional and there was never a day that I worried about his well-being. The administration, nurses, social workers, and aides are like family and they were with me every step of the way. I miss them because they were so special to John & I. I will forever be indebted to them all. God bless the entire staff at Clyde W. Cosper

My father-in-law is at Clyde W Cosper Texas State Veterans Home. I liked that he is 100% covered because of his disability from the Navy, and also that everybody seems to care about him. They're just really nice people that work there. The staff is very concerned and caring and just kind to the men that are there and always willing to talk to us about my father-in-law any time that we are needing to talk to them. They've also reached out and called us when he's not having a good day and let us know how things are going. We did popcorn and a movie. We've been there when the men had their own little instruments and were playing along with the music. They've had times that they were playing different kinds of games and things. His room is very well maintained and very well kept. They have it all decorated up for Christmas right now, and it's nice. I have been there for things that they have for the regular unit and then also for the memory care unit and they do a lot of great things there. I haven't been to any nursing care facility that I would rate higher, so I think that they're great. I have talked to some people who were checking into getting their parents there and they were talking about how expensive it was going to be, but when you compare it side-to-side with a nursing home just down the road, there's no comparison. I much prefer Clyde W Cosper, so for the money, it would be a much better place to be.

I found Texas State Veterans Home for my dad. The reason why we picked it is because it is only for veterans, and dad is a veteran. Anytime we want to call, they take the phone down to talk to my father. They give us updates on him because we don’t live near him. They are also very caring and seemed to like what they are doing. The rooms are not spacious, but it is clean and homey. He is in a semi-private room. They have bus trips, bingo, and game nights. They also go to the restaurants and theatre. The place is very secure and safe.
