My father has been in RiverWick for about three weeks now and he likes it. He cuts up and carries on out there with them and everything. I knew a lot of people that have their relatives up there. They've got great people that work there. The administrator is great. They involve themselves with the residents. I would rate the food great. My dad's a picky eater, so there are some days he doesn't eat what they bring. They get three homecooked meals, not out of a package. If they make lasagna, they make it fresh. If they make spaghetti, they make it fresh. It's like a home away from home. It's just great. They have the option if the person can take a shower by himself. They have a room where the towels and washcloths are. They've got the big shower and a seat in there and a slip-proof pad and everything for your feet. You can shower like that or they've got a walk-in tub, but it's got like a 3 or 4-inch height difference. It would have to be somebody that's still able to balance their weight. It's pricy. On the average base, you would take 108 x 31, and that's gonna be over $3000. What my dad draws in VA and with his Disability/Social Security, I would have to put $12 with it, but he is also able to get the ball rolling on the $2050. Therefore, he'll still have money left a month. When he took the tour, he didn't want to leave. He wound up eating supper with them. We were just going to do like 10 days at a time, but they said with dementia it would be probably better if he stayed there all the time, so we just decided to leave him there.

We went to RiverWick. They were friendly and the rooms looked nice. They gave us a nice tour. They showed us where they ate and where they had activities, and they showed us the back where they go out and do activities. They showed us the whole thing. Cleanliness and upkeep looked fine. Everything was fine.

We love Riverwick! It was a very difficult decision for my parents to leave their home of almost 50 years and the farm on which my father had always lived. It was with apprehension that they moved into Riverwick when the time came in 2012 that they needed assistance in daily living. It has been the best decision ever! Jim and ALL the staff are working in their calling. They are so kind and compassionate to all their residents. They go the extra mile to make sure their needs along with their wants are met. The building is always maintained and Jim makes sure it is wonderfully decorated for all occasions which adds so much to everyone's enjoyment. The staff is very sensitive to the resident's dietary preferences and restrictions. They are very accessible to the families when a question or concern arises. Riverwick is also a fun place! They have a variety of activities planned every day. We are very thankful and appreciative of this place that is now truly home for our parents. We love "coming home" to visit Mother and Daddy at Riverwick!

My grandmother is in this assisted living facility. The staff are usually very great, they get things done quickly and take very good care of the residents. From what I have seen it is a very nice place, and there are things for the residents to do. I do not have any negative experience with the assisted-living facility. I would be happy to see other family members live here. I reccommend this facility.
