"I visited the assisted living and memory care at Spring Oak Lexington. The nurses and everyone seemed like they cared a lot. None of the residents had an odor or smell, which was really good. They seemed to have actual events for the people, and the residents I met looked happy. The staff was very sweet and very good. They have a hair salon, a bus that takes them out of town and stuff, and a garden outside."

"The Village at Southlake is a very nice place. If time comes when I have to find a place, that seems like the place I'd want to go to because it's really nice. I saw all of the rooms and all the different facilities, and it was excellent. I could be happy there. The lady was so nice, too. It was wonderful and convenient in everything."

"I toured Colonial Gardens Memory Care. It was a memory care facility. It was more interactive, but not a good fit for my mother. Many people didn't seem to be in the category where my mom was. My mom's not at that point yet. I like the place. As far as the activities, everybody was very active. I did not like the Colonial Garden rooming setup, but where my mom is now for an apartment is like what she's familiar with. The staff would have a ten. I liked her. I like how she gave the tour and interacted with everybody there. I was very impressed by it. The first thing I noticed was that the facility smelled clean. It didn't smell like a memory care home, and people were always cleaning."

"I loved Forest Pines and I liked everything about it. They gave me the tour and gave me information I needed. It was great. I really liked it. They had these wonderful sitting rooms on every floor and they had all these seniors sitting around, talking and socializing. Everybody looked happy. The furnishings were really nice. The guy that showed me around and interviewed me was wonderful. I was over there about two hours and he didn't rush me, push me, or anything. Not only that, they showed me three different apartments. I liked the way the apartments were laid out, and I liked the fact that they have covered parking for free. I liked the fact that the parking is right there at the door because my partner uses a walker. The covered parking where you can park your car and the grounds were beautiful. They had flowers and they were clean and trimmed, the lawn was well kept, and the inside was clean. Everything was clean as it could be. I'm a perfectionist and I don't think I missed anything. They had these sitting areas on each floor, and there were seniors sitting around talking. They had a game room and activities. They had it all. I loved it."

"It was a very nice and very accommodating facility. The rooms were nice. The dining area was nice. I liked the menus because they changed and then sometimes you could order things that weren't on the menu, which I liked, too. The family room, where they watch TV and so forth and gather together, was nice and clean. I don't have any complaints about it. Those who can drive, can still have their car there. For others, they have the van to take them to other activities outside of the facility. They have game nights and stuff as well. They were friendly."

"It looked clean, the people looked happy, and I thought the rooms were very nice. It's convenient to where we live. I thought the person who took me around was very nice. They showed me the sunroom, I saw where the dining room was, and it had nice sitting rooms so you could go someplace other than your bedroom. They also have a garden outside where you could sit. The dining room was light and airy, and it was clean and not too cluttered with stuff. I didn't see a lot of medical equipment or anything like that lying around, too many chairs that have been left behind, or anything like that. I thought it was very good; I liked it when I walked in."

"Harmony at Columbia is wonderful, and they have extremely friendly staff members. They were more interested in my mother's care instead of just trying to give us a sales pitch. The place was nicely kept up and new. The staff was more than accommodating with our questions, and they're still the same way to this day. It's by far top of the list of everywhere we looked at. They have different styles of rooms. They have happy hour every day for one hour right before dinner, but they're limited to two beverages. She also enjoys bingo and the movie theater. You pay for the meals with your lease, which include brunch and dinner."

"I have lived here for 5-1/2 years and I love living here. Everyone is so nice and very helpful all the time. The staff is great and is there for us every day. I am an ambassador and I love helping new residents."

"It was an excellent facility. There was nothing I didn't like about it. It was absolutely beautiful and top-notch. Everything was nice there. It was like a resort. The apartments were nice. The food and all the amenities were top-notch. They have five different things that you can order on a menu. You don't have to eat what they normally serve. You can drive your vehicle if you want to. They take you to the mall and to your appointments and stuff like that. They have a game night and they do all kinds of activities with the residents there. Their dining area was like a very upscale restaurant. They were very friendly."

"We're leaning very heavily toward Mill Creek Manor for my father. We saw everything. The staff seemed very friendly and attentive. The facility and grounds themselves appeared very clean and sanitary. Out of the facilities that we have looked at, it had the best maintenance. The area was secure, and it made me feel that my father would be safe in that memory care facility with the security that they had. The staff showed us a movie room and an activity area. There was an outside area that they could sit in that was 100% secure. We're moving him within the next thirty days."

"Discovery Village At Sandhill was beautiful. I was really impressed with them, especially the way they have the units set up. It gives you a sense of protection. So, your loved one is in an independent environment, but there are still dependent establishments present, which I think for a relative, puts your mind at ease. It was the first property that I got to tour, and they had this call button by the front door, which I thought was genius. Each morning, residents have to hit that call button. By a certain time in the day, if they haven't received a response, they will call, and if they don't hear anything, they send someone up. So, I thought that was a really cool feature to have. My tour was late. The guy didn't show up, but the lady who ended up touring us was very nice. She saw us sitting there and immediately went into action and began the tour. She's new to their family, but she was very knowledgeable. She knew her way around, answered our questions, and spoke about things that we hadn't even thought of. I was just sold. Just the environment, the climate, the residents, and everyone seemed happy and were being tended to. It's literally like a vacation resort. It is a transition of life, and in that transition I think it should be comfortable. In there, you get a resort style, a beautiful setup with great activities, and so I was really impressed with it."

"I toured The Blake at Woodcreek Farms. Great amenities and access. It had a very beautiful atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and very knowledgeable, and I felt very comfortable with them. The units were very nice. I loved it because they had very tall ceilings. It didn't feel like it was closed in. It had more of an apartment feel than an assisted living feel."

"My wife is several days into physical rehab at Lowman. She is experiencing a 5-Star situation in all rating respects…facility, therapy, nursing, housekeeping, administration, meals. et al. Over-all staff attention/professionalism is exemplary, IMO. Full recovery from brain surgery appears doable via this program. Exhilarating."

"One of the main reasons why we are planning to choose Generations of Chapin for my mother-in-law is because of the location. It's 10 minutes away from the husband's home. I like the place better than the other place we toured. It seems more like a family atmosphere. Everyone was very friendly, and the facility itself was clean and nice. The only drawback with that one was they didn't seem to have as much security at the front door as the other place I toured. There's a desk right as you walk in. You sign in at the desk, but it's not as secure. Unlike the other place where they have an electronic sign, and they had to unlock the door for you. In this place, the door was unlocked. When you walk in, there's a desk to sign in with someone and a little office right there. We only met the people from management; they didn't make the effort so much. As we were walking around, we didn't see a lot of the caregivers as much. The room setup isn't as nice. They don't have a gym, but they have a TV room. They have two TVs set up in two places."
