Marquis Gardens Place provides activities and stuff for the residents. We looked at a studio apartment, which had lesser square footage than the other rooms we saw from other facilities. We were looking for a place that was a closer proximity and Marquis Gardens Place lost points on that one big time. For some people it might be a great place, but for us it wasn't a good fit.
It seemed like they were doing transition training for the new nurse manager. Two nurses were on Dad right away and said that they're going to do some kind of evaluation, a cognitive evaluation, and that's how they're going to determine how much it'll cost, and they'll give us an accurate price and stuff. It was a lot. It was overwhelming all at once, and the two of them together spent about forty five minutes with him. Then somebody from the administration came in and asked if we had any questions, but Dad and I were both numb. That was also our second stop, so it had been a long day. I know they thought they were being attentive, but it was a lot. For me, they seemed more profit-oriented than people-oriented.
The building was very nice though. It had an elegant feel to it. It was well kept and very fancy, but didn't have as homey of a feel as the other facility we first checked out.
