My mother has moved into Valley View Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. It's rural, it's all on one level, and every room has a window view. It's bright, cheerful, and airy, and it doesn't look or smell like a traditional nursing home. It's a lovely place. I have relatives who have done rehab there, and I have visited there, and I find it always clean and well cared for. The residents are well cared for, too. All the staff members I've met, from aides to CNAs to the RN supervisor, have all been wonderful. The admissions director is on top of her game. She knows answers to everything I had asked and pointed out some things that I didn't think of. She is very thorough, very professional, and very caring. There is also an attached memory care unit, so when my mother's dementia reaches that point she'll already be in a building that she's familiar with, with people she knows. She doesn't have to learn a new routine. It will certainly be new people, but it will be familiar. My mother has told me that the food that she's had so far has been good. There are lots of activities, everything from the usual bingo games to regular outings to Walmart on Valley View's own buses, to live music every week, and to special events. They're having a Halloween party. There are also newspapers and magazines readily available for everybody. Everybody has their own TV, and you can wear wireless headphones so that you only hear your own TV, especially when most of the residents are deaf in one way or another. My mother is well cared for, and I'm relieved to have that level of care that is close to home.

My aunt was in Valley View Nursing Center for rehabilitation. They brought her back, I think they went out of their way. She was only there a short time, they're pretty good overall, you get full care, but it costs double than the other places. They would let you come into the little community room, with a self testing thing, where you could spend half an hour with your loved one, and that was nice. They always seemed to have really good food, and all their accommodations were good. I never had problems with the staff.

where should I start,.... short staffing, takes forever to get help, been here for years, disorganized, leaves me soaking wet after iv already asked to be changed multiple times. never get my meds on time. I ring for hour or more. meals are okay could be better. administration not very nice. Does not even smile at me while walking past you say hi and they ignore you.

We thought Valley View was very nice; we did like it. The activities were just sort of a small thing in a separate room, and that was nice too. It was just a short visit. The rooms were pleasant; very nice, I thought.
