I visited this facility

We went to The Bridges of Warwick. In the apartments that we saw, some of the bedrooms didn't have windows. I found the person that showed us around to be very honest. She told us that the problems that we had at the other place, we were sure to have at any place that we looked because many of the personal care units are having trouble hiring. We're going to find the same problems anywhere we go. She was very honest with me. The community layout was good, and the people there seemed to be well taken care of. The community seemed to be very nice. We weren't anywhere else but assisted living. We were only going to see the one bedrooms. However, my mom is an amputee, so we were very concerned because if she woke up in the bedroom without a window and there was no light coming in, that's horrible, to think about being in a room with no light. Not all of them have no windows, it's about a third of them that we saw. And the staff said, 'Oh, well, some people like it,' and I said, 'How could anybody like it? Would you like to be in a room with no windows?' Everything else was nice. It was clean, it was nice, they seemed kind, and they were honest about what they could offer as far as their staffing right now. They were very honest about what was going on as far as hiring in the community. The reason I didn't go there was that they couldn't offer my mom a room large enough with windows.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother-in-law is at The Bridges at Warwick and it's been really good so far. Each of the department heads came into her room. The first one that came brought a vase with a small sprig of yellow roses, and then the next department head stopped in and said 'hi', greeted her, and brought another sprig. Then by the time all the department heads had come, the whole vase was full of beautiful yellow roses. It was a very nice touch. The place is in excellent condition and everybody's been very nice. The dining area looks like a restaurant too, and she's very happy with the food. They have beautiful gardens and plenty of areas to sit outside. There's an area that is quite sunny and they also have a space out front with potted plants and chairs for sitting. If it's too hot in one area, they can move to another, if it's too cold in one area, they can move to the sunny spot. They have an exercise program in the morning, a movie theater, and an area where they do electronic bowling. I think there was a flower arrangement today. So, they're pretty good at keeping them engaged, which is much better than her being at home.

My mother-in-law recently moved into The Bridges at Warwick. They're fine. Everything went smoothly and they got her in and they've been very good with her, so no complaints here. The staff are very kind and neat, and the place is clean. We're only in the lobby, and that's very clean. They've separated everybody with the six-feet thing. I don’t know anything specific, but they just keep her busy most of the day with activities, but I have not seen them.

I visited this facility

The people at The Bridges at Warwick were excellent. The young man I worked with was excellent and very caring. They would put a monitor on my mother, so she couldn't just walk out the door. She could be in the general population, but they would put her in the dementia care unit as her needs changed. It's two stories, and it had a very hotel feeling in the main area. The apartments were singles and doubles. I like that the dementia ward wasn't like a prison where you open these big gates. Here, you go up in an elevator, there's a little room, and you open the security door. It wasn't so institutionalized. It was like going up into a hotel suite. They had a nice dining room up there, and they also had a kitchen for cooking lessons. It was one of the nicer areas I've seen for the memory care portion. They could do medication management and bathing. They had bus trips, arts and crafts, music, physical therapy, exercise class, and an outside garden. They had really cool bathrooms. The door had rollers, and you slide the bathroom door to the left or right to get into it. They also had the emergency pull cords if you need it.

I moved Mom over to The Bridges at Warwick. They get her to meals on time, change her on time, and closely watch their residents. They usually confine them to different community rooms during the day. I'm pretty happy with the care. The only problem is the napping situation. They don't want to do it; that's the problem we're trying to work out right now. It's for safety reasons because they want to have everyone where they can see them, and I agree. The activities are great. They have an activities coordinator who does wonderful things with them. They did a beautiful art project and she plays the guitar. Mom is in the assisted living memory care and likes the food, which I've tasted, and it's good. They have a terrific staff who work together well as a team. It's very well organized. The place is very beautiful and looks like an upscale hotel. It's set up very well and T-shaped. When you come in, there's a hallway that leads you right into the cafeteria, and if you look left and right, there are hallways and rooms like in a hotel. There are two community rooms set up really nicely. Sometimes though, it seems to be a little bit small. It's a little bit crowded when everybody tries to get into one room and have their families there. They have a little TV room down one hall. It's a beautiful setup.
