My mother is at Oregon Veterans Home in The Dalles. The staff I have dealt with are well versed on what they're supposed to be doing. The place is nice and clean, and from my mother's point of view, she says they're very caring. They have good attitudes, they treat people with respect, they know how to deal with various situations with minimal problems, and if there is a problem, they address it immediately. I have no problems with them at all. They showed us the menu and how they do things there, but we weren't able to do anything with that because of the COVID thing. They have to regulate what they feed a lot of the older people, but my mother doesn't have any restrictions, so there's no problem with it. They have good food, and she said she has had no problem with the menu. It's a relatively new facility, it sits up on a hill on the east side of The Dalles, and it looks over the whole town and right down into the Columbia River Gorge. We looked around at some of the amenities, but at the time we weren't allowed to go around and see much because of the COVID restrictions. A lady comes in and does the ladies' hair and nails, and they have regular doctors and nurses come in, too. I have no problems with it at all.
