My dad moved into Gateway Springs Health Campus. We like the fact that all of the staff there are hired and employed by that place. They are not contracted out, so there's not a lot of changeovers. We liked the consistency of care. He's in assisted living, and we like that they have nurses on staff 24/7. We like the size of the area that he's in. It's small enough that he gets the right attention, but big enough that you can walk around and get some exercise. The food, he says, the quantity is always more than enough. He says sometimes it's too much. They have a chef who's been with the company, I think he said 15 years. The menu isn't repetitive. There are always new options, but some are always standard if they don't want what's being served on a particular day. They have a lot of activities. They've had a casino night where the whole place was decorated like a casino. They brought in a trailer that had animals on it. They could go on to the trailer, feed and pet the animals. They have the usual exercise, wheelchair exercise, and bingo. When he was new to the place, they had a welcome to the community, get to know you. People were able to introduce themselves, and they just always invited him to do different activities. However, they are on the pricey side.
