The rooms are nice and very clean. The staff is always willing to help and very friendly. The food is great and you have choices with meals and snacks. Fantastic activities and entertainment. I would not want my parents to be anywhere else. New Dawn gives my parents a warm feeling as if it were home.

Please keep in mind that this review is being written after the sale of New Dawn which took place December 1, 2019. Before the sale you couldn't have asked for a better facility. When the new owners called a meeting before the take over it was to tell family that "nothing" would change. However when family asked questions like, "will the patient to aide ratio change?".....the answer was "there will be a study done on that".....so that spoke volumes. Employees were fired as soon as they took over. Employees not fired are quitting or actively seeking other jobs. My mother was too sick to leave on Christmas day, so she ate in the dining room. She said it was the worst meal she was ever served in all of her 86 years. The meat was something she couldn't identify and refused to eat. Most meals are served room temperature to cold. Portions have been drastically cut and food quality is horrible. My mom call the bacon the see through bacon. Medications have been delivered when convenient and not when needed. Some mornings they are so short staffed, water was not delivered to the rooms. This is not the fault of the staff. These people were efficient and hard working They can't help they way things have changed. It doesn't matter if the rooms are nice, or how good the few staff members are, or what the residents enjoy doing.....the most important part of elder care is healthy meals, plenty of staff, and properly administered medications. Unfortunately, none of these issues are satisfactory.

My grandma has been a resident there for sometime now. She started on rehab and recently moved to the assisted living side instead of returning home. This has been an adjustment for not only her, but for the family as well. My mom takes her to all of her appointments and the staff has always been very helpful to her by holding her medications to having her ready to go on time. My grandma really enjoys the staff and the activities they have for them. I would defiantly recommend this facility for others who are looking. Thank you to all the staff caring for her.

This is a great home for seniors. I have talked to many residents during my visits. They all seem to be happy there and well taken care of. There is also a child care center that my sisters went to everyday. The children take certain days and visit with the residents or make them things to put in their apartments. This always puts a smile on the residents' faces.

My experience with the New Dawn assisted living provider was very pleasant and comforting. My grandmother need to have one of her legs amputated and no one in my family had the time to take care of her. Her doctor suggested we put her there for rest of the duration. The staff was very nice and prompt to her needs. Everything was clean and in order. The rooms were spacious and inviting. Her stay was short and that was due to the attentive care she had received and was back at home in no time. My grandmother passed away not long after coming home, but she was comfortable because of the tips they gave us for her care at home. I think the people at the facility knew her time was short and knew she wanted to be at home when she passed. Its the attention to details like that is what made it comforting to know that they truly care.
