Hennis Care Centre of Dover

Hennis Care Center was kind of rundown. They need newer equipment and they need to be remodeled. It was really showing its wear. The staff was excellent. They were very good folks. They have a lot more nurses there because it's a full-blown nursing home. They were always caring and doing their best, and the food was excellent, but my mother wasn't happy there at all. They don't have as many activities because the people there (for the most part) are really unable to participate in very many activities. Most of them were in pretty bad shape. However, they gave an extreme amount of attention to my mom and they were very good at trying to get her health back up.

My dad was at Hennis Care Center, and he liked it a lot. The staff were good, and they would bring me coffee if I wanted anything to eat when I was over there. The food looked good and appetizing. They have beautiful dining rooms. The sanitation was really good. They were able to keep the odor down well. I don’t know how they did it, but they did. He never complained when he was there. In fact, he liked it because they took him to places.

While my grandfather was there we were able to observe the people who were interacting with him on a daily basis. The staff, from the physical therapists to the nurses, were so professional but also acted like we were family. We got to know them on a first name basis and they always had an update on how things were going. The facility and his room were always clean and neat. The activities that they provided kept my grandfather entertained. It was good to know they really had his best interests at heart following his brief illness. The grounds around the building were clean and it provided another area to visit. It was nice to get outside instead of being in the building all day. Overall, we had a good experience with Hennis Care Center.
