Nursing Home Communities in Hartford, WI

"I picked LindenGrove Menomonee Falls because it was recommended. Also, it's in Menominee Falls, so it was close by. My sister could come and visit me and take care of things for me. It's a very clean facility. The staff is outstanding. I can't say enough about them. They treat us very, very nicely. I think it deserves a 5-star rating. It's an awesome facility. I would recommend it to anyone. They are an outstanding staff. They really care about you here. Their food is obviously made in large quantities, but it's good. There's nothing bad about it. It's very clean, and the staff is always right here. The maintenance crew is good. It's a nice place to rehab, and their therapy department is outstanding. They have bingo once a week, and they give out prizes and stuff when you get a bingo. That's always fun to get out of the room, where it would last for about an hour or so. Today they had Shetland ponies come, so it's pretty cool. They also do a Vegas day, and that's like once a month. They play poker with cards, and we play as a group. They also have live music come, too. They try to get the residents all involved. It's worth the money for the care you get here."

"My sister-in-law was in Linden Grove and it was a very friendly and nice place. It was well run and they cared for their patients. "

"I really loved coming to visit here. I came to visit about once or twice a month. The first time I came with about 7 other classmates and we would deliver little notes and homemade treat or craft. Every time we came, the workers there were very helpful and nice. Sometime the workers would have to show us around because we would get lost sometimes. I always loved coming to visit and looking back on it now I wish i never stopped coming. "

"This place was a lot better than the previous facilities I stayed in. The social worker help me switch my medicaid plan over so I could stay long term. The administrator was extremely helpful and addressed all of my concerns. The building is not as new as some of the other facilities in the area, but the care was excellent. Sometimes they were short staffed, but I have seen this at every home I've stayed at. I am younger than most nursing home residents but the staff made me feel comfortable and well cared for. My room is currently private, but I will have to transition into a semi-private room. The rooms are basic but have a phone, TV, hospital bed, and a bathroom (no shower). Again it is not the fanciest place, but it works. The nursing home is located in a safe area with lots of parking for visitors and lots of windows. They have activities and just started allowing in person visitation. "

"While this facility offers a multitude of services and facilities for its residents, I was overall disappointed in the care that my grandmother received while she stayed there. They do have a vision center, small store, beauty shop, as well as a variety to indoor and outdoor gathering spaces which are very nice for residents, but I believe that the facility is too large. While they are probably following state mandates it seems that there are too many residents per caregivers and the space is too large for many of the people to navigate on their own. The best part about this facility is the small section for sub acute rehabilitation and physical therapy. The therapy was great and really seems to benefit the people that are staying for a short period of time. This area is much smaller and seems to have the same pool of nurses and CNAs most of the time. The dining area is much smaller and residents get more individualized attention during meals. This is not the case in the area of general population at this facility. There the dining areas are large and people wait a very long time for food and often times much longer to get assistance getting back to their rooms. When people need assistance they seem to wait much longer for a response for their room buzzers and there are only buttons available on the beds and in the bathrooms. If they are out of reach it could be over an hour before they are found if something happens. "

"Samaritan Health Center was the cleanest of all the places that we visited. It has an awesome dementia ward, a very nice nursing home ward, and a very nice assisted living facility. The patient can go from one area to another area, depending on the person's needs. The staff was spectacular. I've had my aunt there for 9 or 10 weeks, and the place was awesome. It was the nicest and cleanest nursing home I've ever been at. They offer a ton of activities for their residents. It has 125 residents, and they care for a lot of people. "

"During my great grandma's time at the nursing home I visited her frequently. My mother and I went pretty much every Sunday. While my great grandmother was at this facility I also spent time volunteering in the Alzheimer unit. The facility was always clean. There was also a large amount of natural light that was let in through huge walls of windows. There was a court yard that the residents were able to enjoy if possible. One thing my great grandmother always really loved were the birds they had outside. There was a big area of birdfeeders that really brightened the day for many people. Facility staff was friendly and mostly caring. That is not to say we didn't have bad experiences, but overall it was a positive. The largest complaint from my great grandma was the quality of food. Although I was never present for meals, it did seem like all patients were provided adequate nutrition. "

"The staff in ManorCare Health Services (Heartland Health) in Pewaukee are all very professional and good, they work hard, and they do their best. They have shared rooms with two beds per room. Everyone was really nice except for one staff member that I met. The food is like hospital food, breakfast is the same every morning, but lunch is different because my husband has to have low-sodium diet."

"My mother went to Hope Health & Rehab for a month for rehab. It was not updated, the bathrooms were a pony, they didn't have automatic doors, but the caring staff was great. The food was good, they had a lot of activities, they had card games and bingo. The rooms were small, and she had a roommate."

"The staff were very friendly. They always asked if we needed anything. My dad felt very comfortable and had pleasure staying there. It is a clean facility."

"I was in Cedar Springs Rehab Center for physical therapy, and I liked all of it very much. I felt very comfortable and very well taken care of. It was a private room and very comfortable. I had a TV, and everything I needed was there. The bathroom was right there, and everything was private. I liked the food very much. I was only in that facility for about six weeks for rehabilitation and physical therapy. I liked the different therapy departments; they did a wonderful job with me. There were very nice activities, like a sing-along once a week, pet therapy, and all of the normal things like bingo and church. It was very well done. "

"I had a great experience at Dickson Hollow. It's a very nice place. I had a full tour. They've got very knowledgeable people, and I got to talk to a couple of the residents. It was a very positive tour. I saw an apartment in assisted living and it was very nice. It was a corner apartment, so it had a lot of space. The amenities were typical. They had a resident assistant and if there are issues with people, they certainly would help out dealing with it. It's secluded from independent living. They had their own dining room. They had a movie theater. I don't think there's anything probably much different than most places. You get a one or two-bedroom apartment. We looked at the one-bedroom apartment because that's all my mom needs, and it had plenty of space as far as I'm concerned. They have independent living, assisted living, and memory care."

"My husband is currently at Ascension Living Alexian Village. It is very nice. The staff is really up on everything. The therapists, the doctors, and the nurses, we have a staff meeting every couple of months to talk about how he's doing and everything, and I'm pleased with it. I like all the staff and the nurses and everybody. The social workers are really involved and up on everything that's going on with the residents. They're just really attentive. My husband seems to like the food. He eats pretty well. They don't seem to have as many activities going on. My husband did say the last couple of days they had music every afternoon. Somebody was in the dining room singing Christmas music and stuff."

"My mom is currently at Franciscan Place. They've missed four therapy sessions that they never made up and never told her they weren't coming. It's just frustrating, but it's better than the other places she's been. It's quieter and you don't hear people yelling. You don't have that terrible odor when you walk in the door. There are some pluses, but they're always short-staffed. She got a haircut the other day. They have a little pantry thing for the visitors, which is nice. They'd bring her meals to her room 3 times a day and help her change at night. I go there every day and I get her up and exercise her because there's nobody there to exercise her or get her out of bed. I help her brush her teeth and wash her face. When they do come into the room, I'd say 90% of the girls are very kind and good. "
