"We looked for a place for my grandmother and we went to Villa Maria Nursing Center. It was very presentable. The staff were all courteous and friendly. They gave us a walk through of the facility. What the residents did everyday and the daily schedules. The rooms were average size; it was not small or cramped up. I talked to a resident and he said he was very happy there. Unfortunately, the facility was full. "

"Hampton Court Nursing and Rehabilitation Center was clean. It's an older building, but it's still well kept. The staff was good and very attentive to my friend, and they had a physical therapist who came twice a day and gave her therapy. She said the food was good. They had a salon, group activities, bingo, and different games. I interacted with her nurse and the staff who would bring her food when I was there. Her nurse was very nice. I didn't eat the meal, but they presented it nicely, and it looked fresh. She said it tasted good. She enjoyed it, and she's very picky, so I was surprised when she said she liked it."

"I don’t like Watercrest Care Centre. For someone who has a wheelchair, their shared room is not big enough. I cannot do anything in my wheelchair. I can't reach anything. There are some nice and good people, but there are also some that are not so nice and impatient. I'm also not getting the medical treatment here that I am supposed to get. They have different activities for their residents, like bingo, and they also have trips. "

"North Beach Rehabilitation Center was clean and nice. We visited there because we looked for a place for my grandmother. The location was also convenient for me because it was close to my house and job. The staff were courteous. The rooms were big. This was my first choice if we decided on the move. "

"This was my first nursing home of Miami and was delighted by the food and staff. They were very attentive to my needs and made me feel comfortable as being light community couldn't ask for a better place all I can say is KUDOS to Franco and thanks Mr pitts"

"My mother was a resident of this nursing home. I visited her there every other day for approximately six years. The facility itself was suitable for use as a nursing home. I mean, it was not a modern building as I would have preferred, but it had everything a patient could need to be comfortable. There was even an adjoining park where patients and their visitors could go and enjoy the fresh air. The building was spacious, and the amenities plentiful.There was always a lot of activities for the patients. A lot of times the patients were treated to field trips; such as the fair and the movies. I went with them a few times. I noticed that the patients were well looked after and cared for on these trips.I got to know the staff quite well; meaning the nurses and CNAs. The majority of the staff were pretty decent folk, and seemed to have a genuine concern for the patients there, but there were a few who had no business being in a nursing home. My mother was a combative patient, she didn't trust a lot of the staff, and at times she didn't want them to touch her. Not to clean her. She didn't want to take her medicine most times. I know this must have been hard for the staff to deal with. I walked in my mother's room one day, and found a CNA physically fighting with my mother. My mother was screaming for help and no-one came to check on her. The CNA told me that my mother kicked her in the breast, and it hurt. On other occasions my mother ended up with injuries that nobody could say how they happened (including a broken finger). My mother passed a way a few months ago, and I feel like I should have found a better nursing home for her. Miami Gardens Care Center staff can use more training in how to handle combative patients. "

"It was very serene driving into Regents Park. The people at the desk had been great. It’s very pleasant outside where clients can go out in wheelchairs in the garden area, and it’s very clean. She was going into rehab once or twice a day, but I wish she could have gotten more. "

"My dad is in Hialeah Shores Nursing & Rehab for a week now. The place is clean. The staff is warm. He does mention that they do take a little bit of time to respond when he is requesting help sometimes. Other than that, they're doing everything that they're supposed to do for him. He does participate in rehab activities and exercises, physical therapy, and occupational therapy. Dad seems to be happy with the food. He says it's good. I would say they have to improve their response time."

"My experience with MJHS has been nothing but excellent, from day 1. They have become a family to me and my parents and I have great peace of mind knowing that they are in the best possible place with caring and professional people around them at all times. I visited several facilities as I was looking for a place for both my parents. Dad has advanced Alzheimer's and mom has had several strokes, dementia, and breast cancer, among other things. My one and only choice was always Miami Jewish and I couldn't be happier that they now get to call it home. Everyone I have met, from admissions to nursing to doctors to therapists and even environmental services has been nothing but helpful, kind and professional. Mom has had several episodes of syncope and I have personally been there when they react and act immediately to help her out. They are incredibly patient with her and their main concern is her well-being and safety. My father's Alzheimer's has made the transition into the home quite difficult and having lived with my father for the past 2 years I know how tough it can be. Yet, everyone is always doing their best to make him feel at home, they reassure him and care for him and have his comfort and safety as their number 1 priority. There was a point when he was becoming more and more confused, and extremely agitated, and the medical staff, including Dr. Lopez and Dr. Agronin came in and addressed this issue by seeing and monitoring dad but also by talking to me to see which care route would be best for him. Dad is now doing much better, and that is all thanks to everyone's efforts. I live outside of the country, which makes matters for me that much more difficult. Yet, I know that they are in the best possible care right now. I speak with the staff and my parents every day to keep up to date. And, if anything should happen, the nurses or social worker immediately notify me. For example, my mother had to go back to the hospital for a pacemaker, and everyone was attentive and patient with me as I asked a million questions and of course worried about mom, dad being alone and me not being there. Being able to ask the questions and have a conversation about this, made me feel safe...even though I am halfway across the world. This weekend with Hurricane Irma threatening the state, they have extra staff on board, and are more than fully prepared to ensure that the residents are safe. And yes, I live outside of the country, but have family who visit mom and dad and they also agree with me in that the facility is simply great! All in all: the Physical Therapy staff is amazing. The nurses are caring, professional and kind. Their social worker is on top of things and is a great link in between all the different departments. The activities team does an amazing job at having different activities and picking as many residents up so that they can participate and become a part of the community (no easy task.). I could go on and on and have many more examples of why I absolutely recommend this facility. They have given me and my parents peace of mind, and that is simply priceless. "

"Generally Palm Garden was OK, and it’s where my father ended up. First, he had a double room -- which was unacceptable -- and the next night they moved him to a private room, so that was very positive. I don’t really have anything negative to say except one majorly important thing. He had got bad pneumonia after being there about a week and a half, and they sent him to Aventura Hospital Emergency without contacting the family. When my mother and sister went up to see him the next morning, he wasn’t in his room, and they thought he was in rehab until they said "No he is at the hospital. We tried your mother’s cell phone, but no one answered," but they didn’t try the landline at the house or make any other attempt to contact us, and we were very disappointed in that. There was one bad nurse, and I had a feeling that she may have been let go and the rest of the staff was excellent. He did rehab and had been walking up to 100 steps a day, and he just slowly started to decline to 30 steps and then he couldn’t get out of bed and that was because of the pneumonia. The facility was a little old but clean. They were very friendly and helpful. The best one of the ones we saw. "

"Hillcrest Nursing home is a very good facility, my mother is in the long term part, she is doing very well. The nursing home stuff are friendly knowledgeable allways willing to help, they have excellent big Phisical Theraphy departmment, my mother was very sick a year ago with ammonia she was in the hospital after she was realist and was back to the Nursing home she needed 24 hours oxygen, with the excellent care of Phisical Therapy tachnitian she got well my mother has ocpd. She is doing much better now she don't use the oxygen anymoreI am very thankful to hillcrest nursing home for taking excellent care of my mom. *****"

"My dad is in the Memorial Rehabilitation Institute at Memorial Regional Hospital South for rehab. Right now, the visits are being controlled because of the high cases of COVID and all that, but so far what we've seen is that everyone has been just really on top of him and making all the measures. The nurses that I've met have been really nice, and they're trying to make him as active as possible. They're very caring and the fact that he doesn't fully understand English, they try their best to allocate him with the nurse that is the right fit for him and they're very patient. They usually always put him with a bilingual nurse, that way they can communicate and so he feels comfortable. One of the therapy they give my dad is a musical therapy where they're trying to make him do some steps on his own, and one of the nurses actually had a guitar and started singing them the song to kind of go with the rhythm of it. I've never seen that before, so I thought that was nice."
