My partner is still at Peak Resources Brookshire. It's one of the better facilities for skilled nursing in the area. I did a lot of research before I put him here. The people here at this facility are very, very attentive. As with any other facility that offers services, there are good nurses, and there are not-so-good nurses. Overall, Peak Resources Brookshire would be somewhere I would recommend to anyone who needed to have skilled nursing for someone for a limited time. My partner is here for rehab. They provide physical therapy, occupational therapy, and SLP therapy. Their food is pretty bad. Now and then, you get some salad, but most of the food is very starchy and fried. And it's like you don't get a choice like you would in a hospital. He has been here since January, and I've only seen two salads as a side dish, and he should have a salad every day. They provide all the furnishings and all his medications. Everything that he needs is provided here, except I do his laundry. I do not let them do his laundry. It's a private room; he has his private suite. He has his own private bathroom, a large closet, a hospital bed, a chest of drawers, a lamp table, two folding chairs, a lounge chair with an ottoman, and a TV. It's nice enough.
