My momma just moved into Edenton Primetime Retirement Center. It's nice and the people are helpful. She said the food is good and that they deliver it properly every day at the same time. She has a private room with a full bath, a closet, TV, a fireplace, and furniture. It's also handicapped-accessible, They have games, and they have somebody come in to do their hair once a week. With COVID, we can't go out there very much. Only two people can go in for twenty minutes a day. The administrator is very helpfuland pretty accommodating. The staff helped Momma do what she asked to do as far as getting out of bed and getting her showered. The only complaint she had was that they just provide plastic silverwares, so we brought her some real silverwares.

I toured Edenton Primetime Retirement Center. I was shown around by the activities director, and I had a very positive feeling about her. The lobby area was attractive. There were two, I think they referred to as parlors on either side of the lobby that were attractively decorated but didn't seem used by any of the residents. So that was a little off-putting that they had these pretty set up, but they didn't appear to be used. The one area where I was invited to wait looked very nice but smelled as though perhaps someone had urinated on the furniture. It didn't look like it, but it did smell like it. I also found it off-putting that when you walked into the lobby, you were looking directly down the hall at the residence rooms. The other thing that I noticed that concerned me was when I first walked in, they didn't appear to be a nurse's station. The nurses or the caretakers were all kind of huddled in an area in the hallway seeming to have a meeting. It took a little while before I was even noticed. When I was finally invited into the office, I noticed there were keys on the wall. They weren't in a lockbox. They were just out in the open. Things like that just kind of concern me.
