We chose Chestnut Station Apartments because the price was low, at $1275 a month. The staff members are nice people, easy to get along with, and they're glad to help you out. This is just like an apartment complex for old people. There's a nice community room, they get together and do things in there. It's located very close to Philadelphia, everything's within five miles like restaurants, hospitals, and everything. There are restaurants within walking distance. The maintenance is very good, everything's clean and well kept. The room is kind of small, it's under a thousand square feet.

Apartment sizes were fine, but the interior had many flaws. Residents had to step over the edge to get into the bathtub to shower instead of having a walk-in, and that poses a significant risk of falling because residents are senior citizens -- many of whom use a walker or a cane. The staff took down the thermostat in my grandfather's apartment, so it was difficult for him to control the temperature in his apartment which left him feeling cold most of the time. The last complaint is for the incompetent and dishonest office employees. My grandfather moved out in mid-July. My family and I helped clear his apartment before August, and they decided to charge his rent for August knowing he had moved out and into a nursing home by then. On top of that, we received our security deposit refund this month (November) -- five months after the initial request in July, and we only received 10% of what was promised. They are difficult to get in contact with, and will only take action when a negative review is left.
