We are very happy with Chelsea actually. He is doing very well in there, he really likes it, and everything about it is really nice -- very good. It is spotless, and there is almost nothing that I could say against this place. I am a nurse, so I am very particular, and so is he. He is very alert and very oriented. It is a very nice place.

I visited this facility

I visited The Chelsea at Brick. This is the one where it felt more depressing. I was able to walk upstairs and check places. It looked very homey, but it also had this feeling. It was like you just feel that you didn't want to stay there very long, that's how I felt with this place. I didn't like it. I walked in and it just didn't feel right. I wouldn't want my mother there. I talked to the staff and talked to the people, there was just a more depressing feeling and the clienteles seemed more depressed. The clients were like, "It's okay. Yeah, I'll get used to it." I wasn't getting a good feeling that they love it. The rooms seemed adequate though. I brought up the fact that another facility would waive the $1000 entrance fee, and she called the director and they were going to waive that for us too. I didn't eat there but I didn't feel like I wanted to either. It seemed like one big dining hall kind of thing compared to the place where my mother is now. Overall, I just didn't have a good feeling about the place in general and the people in general there. What they could improve on is to create a lighter, happier feeling. It just seemed heavier compared to other places.

I visited this facility

I found that Chelsea was very nice with a lot of very nice people, but the rooms were quite small. There were reservations I had about the size. It's right across from some hospitals.

I visited this facility

Experience was very positive. Caretakers seemed attentive. Some worries about socialization and ability to go outside/get fresh air/get some different scenery. This is beneficial for seniors and should be mandatory for all but the sickest patients. Heard some fleeting critiques of amenities, but that was it. Nurses seemed very busy.

I gave the facility 5 stars because my relative is happy with it which is so important. I am also happy with it. The people who work there are very loving and caring. The facility is clean and very well maintained. The employes seem to care and understand the needs of others. This is so important because the staff is who is always around the persons staying there. They need to be relied on. I have to say it is not inexpensive. All facilities cost money but I am happy with this one and it is worth the cost. Very caring and supportive. I was involved in making the decision for this facility and I personally only looked at one other facility close to home but this one seemed to be the best. It was important to pick a place that is not too far away. That makes it easier for friends and family to visit and makes the person at the facility seem closer to family and friends.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My grandfather was a resident at the Worthington for about 5 years, and overall I feel he was well cared for. The facility was clean, and the staff was friendly. My main complaint is that there doesn't seem to be enough focus on keeping the residents active, and very often it seemed that my grandfather would go weeks without much physical activity. Of course this was mostly due to his age, but I felt the staff should have tried harder to keep him active. My grandfather always said he enjoyed being there, and it certainly felt like home for him, which is the most important thing. He always seemed to be well fed, which is also important as I have seen far to many elderly people become weak from lack of proper nutrition. I think the Worthington is a decent place to have a family member reside at, you hear so many horror stories about assisted living facilities, it's good to know that there are places out there that care.

Friend or relative of resident

My grandmother ha been in The Worthington for a few years now. She has suffered from Alzheimer's and is very frogetful and has very many mood swings. My family and I were very skeptical at first due to hearing horror stories about other places like this, we decided to check it out. We walked in and it was beautiful. The inside was set up like a small village of sorts, various sitting rooms, cafe, hair salon, the list is endless. Another great feature was the staff, they were smiling, patient and seemed to really enjoy what they do. In the years we have been visiting her (weekly) , we have no complaints whats so ever.
