"Walnut Grove was very nice, but I wanted a little bit more room. The apartments were a little bit small. There were residents playing cards, and the ones I spoke with were very happy there. The staff who showed me around and explained all the activities was very nice and very professional. The dining area was very clean, and they had a nice array of food. The apartments were clean, and the layout was nice, but they're small."

"As a volunteer at Country House two or more times a week I am able to see the residents at their best and worse but I am also able to see the staff ‘s reaction to many different situations. There is never a lack of attention or true caring from every member of the staff. I hear lots of laughter and oh my all the different activites. "Hansen House is developed specifically for memory care. There were a lot of things with how they built it that they took into consideration for the different stages of dementia and memory issues of the patients. The staff members were very attentive, and appeared to be having a good time with the people who live there. They're like a family. I saw them playing a game. They have a courtyard and a full kitchen. It was a big open concept, and they have a beauty salon."

"I went to CountryHouse - Council Bluffs. It seemed very comfortable and cozy. The staff seemed reassuring. Their policies for the overnight care and the bathing policies, I was totally impressed with. I was comfortable because I felt that my mom would be safe there with 24-hour care. It was Katie who I met with. She was awesome. She was very informative with a lot of information other than just with the Country House. She was informative for us regarding a lot of information about moving my mother into a memory house. She answered a lot of questions we didn't know. Most of them were out on an outing that day and that impressed me. They said that they take outings often. The recreational part, that's important for me because my mom is just sitting when she's at home. She's not involved with any stimulation, other than just sitting with her daughters. The menus look good."

"My mother will be moving here. I liked the people and the curriculum that they were going to have. We met with the director and I was able to talk to her and get a tour of the place and be able to sit down and ask questions on what they're able to do and help with, and the programs they provide. The rooms were clean and big enough for what we needed for my mom. She doesn't need a large area, so we just went with this small one-bedroom. The staff during the tour was fantastic. The tour that we had was around lunchtime, and it was nice seeing the people down in the dining area and being able to see them interacting. The dining area was clean and it was nice the way they had the food outlined. Every single day, they would have something different, but they have staple food that will be available every single day, like hot dogs or hamburgers. That way, if a resident didn't want the meals they were creating, they could just always fall back to the regular items they would have every single day. They have a salon, they do the bathing regularly, they have a little movie theater and a small church, and crafts. They usually do weekly outings to where they can take the residents to the grocery store, so they can get stuff for their kitchenette area."

The staff who toured us around was very congenial and knowledgeable."

"Bailey Pointe Assisted Living at Miracle Hills is in the middle of a remodel. They said they're tearing off the carpets and they're fixing the driveway and stuff. They got the siding done so it looks nice outside, but they're still working on the inside. The staff was wonderful. The units that we saw needed to be redone. It's a nice place. It just needs updating."

"My mom moved into CountryHouse at Elkhorn, and it was excellent. They are keeping my mom busy compared to the other facility. She's more stimulated. They do physical activities. They play games, go on rides, and do crafts. The staff members are very friendly and helpful. When you enter the facility, you have to buzz in, and it is answered within like two minutes max. They open the door quickly. When you walk in, there are staff all over the place. The rooms are beautiful and up-to-date. It's a newer facility and it's beautiful. My mom loves her room.
