"I was here for 15 days due to not having no strength to walk. Therapy both occupational and physical worked with me and I can walk again. Nurses aides were super friendly and helpful at least the ones that took care of me. This place is clean the food you always get 2 choices. If I had to stay I would choose this place as my home"

"My mother moved to the assisted living facility of StoneBridge The Villas in De Soto. Currently, we're dealing with an air conditioner issue. We're having a major heat wave, and they don;t have control over the temperatures in their own apartments. It's an older facility, and they're doing the best that they can, out of the circumstances, because everyone's air conditioners are struggling with this heat. The staff members were just really easy to work with. The social worker we were working with was working great and allowed things to go as easily as possible. They also have the nursing care people, they do the OT and PT, and they can even do the labs and some of the other stuff there. It's just been a great experience so far. My mom is 84 and extremely picky about food. Within the first week that she was there, I ate a couple of meals with her, because family members are allowed to eat with their relatives if they choose to, and they don't charge you for that. In my opinion, the food was good. They're home-cooked meals, the kind of meals that I would have had when I was growing up. My mom positively loves them, overall. She said they're really good, although sometimes, they overcook the breakfast just a bit. They have a library section with large prints, and they are changed every so often by the city library that we have in De Soto. They also have an activity room. They do activities, although not as many as some other places might have. They have an 8:30 exercise class for anyone who wants to do it, and they always have something at 11 o'clock. It could be games or some kind of a mental activity that keeps the brain active and working well. I would call that a memory enhancement activity. They have something in the afternoon, too. They do a lot of bingo, and there is a small area where they can watch DVDs and movies. They can even do a movie night if they want to. They have a puzzle section there, with all these huge puzzles that they can work on if they want to, any time during the day. They also have a lot of individual types of stuff. They have exercise and equipment in the rehab. They are keeping the place very clean. The maintenance people are amazing. They're there Monday through Friday. You don't see them as much on the weekends, but they will come in for emergencies. It's not a top-of-the-line fancy facility, but this one is inclusive with its price. Everything is included, even my mom's hair getting washed and styled by a beautician. They even do nails there, as well. You can't compare it to the big fancy places that have a theater built in with the seats and the screen. This facility is more of a home-type theater, like when your family sits down to watch a movie. It's going to be that kind of a theater experience. I've lived here since '95, and I've taught here since '84, and it's been here that long. It's gone through different name changes. It was built as a recreation place, way back, so it is not a brand new facility. Aside from the price, we chose this place because my mom liked it when she toured it. They also have a number of different apartment set ups. They're individual, so you do not have to share with someone else. You just pick the size that fits you and your budget. Having her own patio outside was also a big decision because not all of the rooms have that. Another thing is the location. It's right here where we live, so it's really close."

"Not sure how one is supposed to show their appreciation enough. Placing my step mother was not the easiest thing to do but with the help of Meagan and Brice it made it easier. The facility smells nice and the food always looked good. The rooms were pretty nice overall and had enough space for her things. Some of the residents are so fun to talk to. "

"We toured Cedarhurst of Farmington. I think it's very well organized. One of the things they mentioned and one of the main things we saw was that it did not seem to be assisted living of any sort, more importantly like independent living, more like a resort-type property, clean, and smelled good. It was just nothing like any other place we had ever toured. The staff was very knowledgeable, pleasant, and caring. They had a movie theater room. They had physical therapy. If they needed walking, they had walking areas. They had courtyards and numerous activities. There's something to keep you busy all the time. They offered food, but it did not work for us at that moment, but I do know that they have won numerous awards for their food service. That's one of the big things they've gotten."

"Southbrook was great. It was a very beautiful place. It was a brand-new facility and very clean. Whenever I would walk by somebody, they were all very nice. No matter what part of the building I was in, all the people that I saw there were very nice. The rooms were bigger. They did not have carpets in them, which was a plus. The showers are bigger there. The dining area was also very nice and set up like a restaurant."

"I've been visiting Camelot Nursing and Rehabilitation Center a lot within the last month, ever since my grandmother moved into their Orthopedic Recovery wing after her surgery. The rooms in the Orthopedic Wing are decently sized and I haven't noticed any issues with cleanliness yet. The wing my grandmother is staying in has a nurse and two aids to assist the patients and the therapy department is on the same hall. The two aids are really wonderful people who answer call lights promptly and take care of their patients. The therapists have made great strides with my grandmother. Not only have they made great strides with helping my grandmother walk again, but they are among some of the nicest people I've ever met. The day nurse (I haven't met the night shift nurse yet) is truly excellent at her job and really cares about her patients. The food served is a lot better than what one might expect and the patients have the option to eat in their rooms, though therapy hopes my grandmother will be walking to the dining room in time. All in all, Camelot is a great nursing center and I'm glad that I can trust these people to take care of someone I love. "

"Farmington Presbyterian Manor was very comfortable. It was homey and the people were very kind. They showed us all levels of care because that's what we will be looking into. We looked at independent living, assisted living, and then memory care and they were very transparent with fees. So, I was very pleased. The rooms were very open. We were looking specifically for a two-bedroom for my in-laws and they were able to accommodate that with two rooms together (similar to a hotel where you have the two rooms together with a door in between). They had several other rooms that we toured. Some were set up. Some were being remodeled. They had met the needs that we were looking for. When we were there, they were having crafts in the morning, but the big draw for us was the large room for church services on Sunday and Wednesday and a gospel singing group that came in. The library was very well stocked and very good as well. So, I was impressed with that, as my mother-in-law is a reader. The lady who gave the tour was phenomenal. She answered all questions and has made callbacks to us. We're very impressed."

"I like to walk around Harris Manor. Staff, who are unaware that I am there, are pleasantly interacting with residents. They take pride in making Harris Manor feel homelike, both in decor, and in their attitudes about the freedom and flexibility a home offers its occupants. There are beginning of the day routines--awake up, eat (with two morning options), medications, handing out day's 'necessities.' Residents come and go, with only the need to check in and out. The menues, and the meals that I have seen, are nutritious, attractively served and are foods the men seem to like. I called at 5:45 a.m. One person answered the phone quite cheerfully, and then conferred with another about a question that I had. "

"My wife stayed at The Baptist Home for respite, and she enjoyed it very much. They were very kind to her and they took really good care of her. The people made her feel at home. Most of them had worked there most of their career and for them, that's their calling in life, not their job. The food was excellent. It was all home cooking. She had nothing but good things to say about them. Her room was a very good size. They had single occupancy that were all very clean. Even though she was in the older part of the building, it was very well kept and clean. We didn't have to take her furniture there. She wanted an electric chair and they found one for her to use. It was very adequate. If you become a long-term resident, you can bring your furniture from your home. They had a sewing machine, which she used, a craft room, games like bingo, church services and a chapel, and people come in and sing. They had a lot of activities. It was very reasonable."

"My grandpa loved. Crystal Oaks unsure at first, but the way staff made him feel he was a part of the family he loved when he would go out with family in on holidays and weekends he would worry about getting back home. No better feeling that caring and loving staff are out there he passed peacefully with his family including the Crystal oaks staff by his side. Excellent rehab as both grandparents spent time on it. Thanks for all those hard working ladies and gentleman for such great care from nurses, aides, transport, housekeeping, therapy, activities and management."

"My mother has been in Fountainbleau Nursing Center since October. The facility is very clean. It's a single floor unit that has four wings, with 10 rooms in each wing. It also has a memory care unit which is what we needed, and it is close to where I live. My mom was allowed to have her own furniture in her room . The staff is very attentive and would report to me about how she's doing as far as her participation and her acceptance, medical care, among other things. They have activities like trivia, bingo, card games, bowling, and Bible readings. "

"My mom was a resident of Festus Manor for over 18 months, and I can't tell you how fantastic the whole staff was with her and her many needs. The entire time she was there the staff was attentive to not only her needs but the families also.
