I've been a resident for almost 2 years and continue to be impressed with the facilities here at Corby Place Senior Living. It has everything a senior would want. Being more independent and loving to cook, I enjoy the full kitchen. three meals a day are available when I don't feel like cooking, or I can even order off the menu if I don't care for the entree. The meals are delicious! I often wonder how the chefs can please so many different appetites at once, but they sure do!! Every holiday is made special with a menu to suit the occasion, cloth napkins and tablecloths and table decorations, usually fresh flowers which I love! The staff here is superb. They have a way of making you feel like family and someone significant at the same time. Everyone on the staff goes out of their way to be accommodating to you. It's such a rare thing these days. It does feel like a big family here, every resident is pleasant. If you are "allergic" to smiles you won't be happy here! There are lots of activities, games, and crafts if that's your thing. Nothing is required of you to attend. You come and go about the building as you wish. If you want some alone time, the apartment rooms are large and so are the windows! It's great to look out at the river or downtown area. There is a deck on the roof or a courtyard for you to enjoy in nice weather. There is close, covered parking if you still have your own car. Corby Place also has a driver that can take you to appointments, etc. and their own bus which goes to Wal-Mart weekly. There are all sorts of outings each month to different stores or restaurants. Have a walker or wheelchair to content with, no problem! You are helped on and off the bus or car and delivered right to the front door! I'm telling you, there isn't a thing Corby Place hasn't thought of for your comfort and peace of mind. Should you have questions, concerns or grumbling, the executive director is available 24/7 to listen, answer, help or change if necessary. I can't say enough good things about Corby Place Senior Living! Come look over the place and see if you will love it as much as I do.

We had an in-person tour of Corby Place. It's a downtown location, which is nice. They have a library and a dining area. All the meals are provided. They have different tiers of services that a person can have or not have. They have an exercise room. They have a place for men to kind of tinker, like in a garage. They had a courtyard. You can have pets there. They were all apartments. We looked at one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. They also have packages where you can have somebody come in and help with activities of daily living. There's a nurse on staff all the time, and they help with medicines. They do daily activities. They take them out on trips once a week. They have a gathering on their rooftop. They do tailgating for football games.

My family members are safe, comfortable and well fed. Everything that they need is provided as if they lived in a private home. They also have nursing staff or aides night and day.

The historical aspect was probably my favorite about Corby Place Senior Living, but it was a high rise with elevators, steps, and stuff like that, things that I would not consider senior-friendly. The staff was not as personal. They had several things that you could do. They had libraries, puzzles, and little groups. It's an older building. It's downtown and I guess there are some things downtown, but it's not very busy.

My mom is now at Corby Place Senior Living. We are very happy with it. She is very happy there. They have nursing care 24/7, three meals a day, laundry service, and housekeeping. It is a very nice place. The rooms are very open, airy, and full of light. They have activities and transportation. They have a van that takes them out on field trips every so often. The food is very good. Everybody is excellent. I think the value for money is very good.

We chose Corby Place Senior Living based upon my mom wanting her independence, but at the same time that she would be able to have friends and make new friends. The price seemed to be more than fair. They were really willing to negotiate and gave us an offer that we could live with. They provide free transportation to medical appointments. For non-medical trips like shopping or whatever, it only costs $4 for a round trip. She's not able to drive now, so it was a great way to make sure she would still have transportation to where she needed to go (and in the event my brother and myself could not take her). The staff seems to be accommodating, and I've had no issues with them. There are exercise times that they can get together, a library, and a hairdresser. They have three meals a day that are furnished to the residents, which ensured that our mother would get fed. They are more than willing to give you secondary choices if you don't like the menu on a tray. The building is old, but they've really put a lot of work into it.

Corby Place was nice, and I liked it. The facilities are good from what I could tell. I thought the rooms were extra big for a senior. I only met one staff member, and she was very helpful.

My mother has lived there about 5 years. She moved reluctantly, but was no longer able to care for her house. Very quickly she settled in and has been quite happy there. The management is FABULOUS and very respectful of the people who live there. They are treated like adults, and their opinions and preferences matter. She has enjoyed the socialization, the companionship, and the genuine caring attitudes of both staff and fellow residents. I would highly recommend this facility.

Corby Place is clean and open, nicely decorated, and has kind of old looking furnishings. It's an old building, but it's nice. The staff is fine. I have never had anybody act like they didn't want to wait on my mother or help her. They've been nice and friendly. She just said there was one time when she had a piece of chicken that wasn't completely done and the brownies being dry. It's a 14-story building.

My visit at Corby Place Senior Living was very nice and very informative. The place was very clean. I like the set-up of the dining area, it looked very inviting. The menu looked nice. They have different kinds of activities. There's outings and different holiday parties. They were nice and they keep the residents active. The staff who toured me around was very knowledgeable. She had the answers to our questions. The room was very spacious. Because my father likes his family pictures, they said residents would definitely be able to put things up on the walls and make it their own home, and that was nice.

I live in this community. This building has been sold to a new buyer from California, and he is improving it. I'm perfectly happy with it right now. They are getting new carpet and new insides to the elevators. Everything is being redone. We are having really good service and a good staff. We have a wonderful, caring group of people because they go out of their way to make sure you're OK. They check on you. We have a checkout system where if I go out, I sign out to make sure they know I'm not in the building. We have a garden where people can go out and sit in the sun for a little while, and we love that. We are downtown, and a lot of us are hard of hearing, so that doesn't bother us. It's a good situation, and I like it. Our manager has been here over eight years, and she is fantastic. She used to be a nurse, so she is very caring.
