My dad is in the Barone Alzheimer's Care Center. I believe they're treated well, and I have never seen my dad mistreated. The gentleman who runs it tries very hard to challenge them every day. My mother is getting updates whenever she wants them. I think they call her a couple of times a week, and she is free to call anytime. The staff loves him because he probably had a quarter of them in school. My dad was a school teacher. The room is like a hospital room, there are two beds in it, and there's nothing fancy about it, because they're easily disoriented. They have activities every day, they are constantly bouncing balloons whenever we get there, and they have trivia contests, which my dad does very well in.

I was thrilled to find Barone Care Center when looking for a place for my father to live. He was in about stage 6 of the Alzheimer's disease. After caring for him and my mother, who was also in ill health, for two years, we could no longer give adequate care for him. It broke my heart to have to find someplace else for my Dad, but knew it was the only way. After many months of searching, I finally heard about Barone Care Facility. They are dedicated to only Alzheimer's patients and the facilities, staff and care is superb. They believe Alzheimer's patients behavioral problems are no "bad" and treat each one as a loved individual. They also can accommodate patients until the end of their life, so they do not have to transition to other facilities. So many other wonderful things, all I can say is they are truly different, and it was the ONLY place that I felt comfortable leaving Dad. His behavior improved and was doing well. He passed away from nonalzheimer's related illness.
